The original story would have ended way better with a flying armbar and broken chunner arm. I picture a chunner with broken arms, broken ankles, and knees. "We'll call it a draw":

I think the OP handled the situation poorly. He should have done a super-tomoe-nage, which is exacly like the normal tomoe-nage, except that you scream, "CHHHUUUUUNNNNNNEEERRR" as you throw him.

Judo is in one hour. I owe you pushups before the night is over.

I wish I had Judo in one hour. Instead, I've got more time alloted to this site.

For those of you who noticed, or are stalking me, I haven't been doing shit this past couple of weeks, hence the dramatic increase in posts. On one hand, it's awesome. On the other, I'm really fucking bored.

Whilst I wasn't there and can't possibly know what actually went on, I will say that it usually takes 2 to instigate a fight.

That said again I have met people who fly off the handle when you go "hi".

heh, i remember when i was in high school, my instructors would tell us all the time "when you get your black belt, shut up about it. unless you are in a dojo or competition, nobody needs to know."

whenever we asked why, they would say the same damn thing every time.
"do you know how quickly talking about having a black belt will get you in a fight?" don't talk about martial arts outside of dojos and competitions."

normally, i hate it when my friends tell others that i train. but, then again, that is also how i met lady kimbo......

as an update after some sleep and more thought.

                You are probably correct.

I'm just way too damn laid back/easy-going when it comes to social settings like the club. When I'm in a good place, short of actually
hitting me. It's pretty damn hard to get my adrenaline/bloodlust to surface or lose control of it.

and no i wasn't trying to instigate anything. not even in a remote passive-aggressive way. I was actually just trying to get him to talk about his training.

I had no idea he would be like that as my friends didn't tell me about him until after what happened.

I initially figured him as someone new to training who was just really excited about what he was doing and wanted to show it off. As that was How i was when I first started escrima and judo. (showing off a little bit, trying to get my friends to do it with me.)

Starting stupid fights, or talking shit for no reason or cuz of what they practice. really isn't me though

It's almost always a bad idea bringing up your MA training with a stranger, or critiquing the MA training of said stranger. Period.

Regarding which MA has the biggest pricks, I've not seen a particular pattern and the liveness of training doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. Case in point, an incident that happened in class this evening. We were working on mat randori when suddenly there was shouting on the other side of the mats. One BB was yelling at his BB partner something about his nads getting <inaudible> blah blah blah. Everyone stopped and looked over at what appeared to be a full scale fight break out. The coach ran over and threw the hot head BB out. I don't know what happened but it was suprising to see someone at that rank losing control. There hasn't been a single open rolling session where I've not had something getting bruised, scratched, twisted, and so on. It's nothing personal but I guess to any jerk it is.
Gonna disagree with you. and while I didn't know him, My best friend knew him so I thought he was cool.

Martial arts isn't a Religion nor is it Politics.
It isn't faith. It isn't a system of belief.

                with that said,
never mentioned specifics of my training or what I did to him. all I said is I tried it before as it was before my judo class. Wasn't trying to critique. I was trying to elicit a conversation about it. Hell I never bother mentioning my training or experience unless specifically asked or if it's significantly relevant.

                with that said,
no one here was there and only one or two members (selfcrit/felipe) here who know/have met me before. so i get the suspicion that this all elicits.

and someone else mentioned that MMA/TUF types are more likely to have this behaviour... IMHO two major reasons I see as a force behind it:

                1. they don't actually train and/or just Un-Alive TMA that has been MMA-fied and/or they don't compete. So practically speaking they are no different than any other too deadly artist other than they mask it with a slightly better facade.

                2. They do train pretty damn hard, They compete and they win, and they are pretty damn cocky, full of themselves about it.
I only know one or two who actually meet this criteria.

I was joking. If there is any kind of security element at the club, just defend yourself and let the bouncers handle the mess. No need to further complicate life by super-tomoe-nageing some fool.

Or challenge him to a vale-tudo fight outside in an alleyway.

IOW, it was a stranger. And look at what happened. QED.

My gf is very aggressive when it comes to sparring. This guy accidentally hit her in the face and she chased him across the dojo, knocked him down, and started kicking him. I would have given my right nut to see it. She's this adorable little 117 pound thing. But basically mean as fuck.

That reminds me of this time that I accidentally hit a girl about that size on the nose with my calf when I was applying a juji gatame. She bit me . So I armbarred her hard and she never came back.

Tell me about it. The guy absolutely did not deserve that. He was a complete softy. We were drinking once, screwing around with escrima sticks and she THREW ONE AT ME, and broke my frickin nose.

I no longer make fun of TKD.

Well as long as she doesn't mind if the roles were reversed and she gets the kicking laying on the floor then it's ok.

The trouble with people is that a lot are fucking weird.
