36 and starting from scratch in NJ

Hi folks. I'm 36, out of shape and 30lbs overweight, and looking for a place to start training in Monmouth County, NJ. I'm interested in learning striking and grappling, something that gives me a competent overall fight game. I've never trained a martial art before. I'm in the Middletown area.

So far in my research I've found:

    Middletown Martial Arts
    http://www.middletownmartialarts.net...=3ow00o8m6wia6

    Real Mixed Martial Arts
    http://www.realmixedmartialarts.com/

    Grappler's Guide Academy
    http://www.centraljerseybjj.com/

I'm a little suspect of the first one, what with family oriented training and kids advertised so prominently, but i have nothing else to back that up other than a general feeling and what I've read about McDojo's here. The others look a bit better, and I found an excellent if dated review of Real MMA on the site here.

I'd appreciate any advice you can offer, especially in regards to schools and where to start/what to expect. I know getting in better shape is a priority, but I figure getting started can only help me in that area.

    Thanks for your help.

Well the 5th degree in MMA is odd but they got a legit BJJ teacher, find out if he teaches there regularly or if the owner who is a blue belt handles the classes.

Their head instructor posts on here from time to time, do a search for Jason Scully.
