no, like i said we just played football and i got a badge from them, but i lost it.
    :-(
at that time i had no idea who or what the spetnaz were.
this was back in...92 or 93.

i used to have several badges from special forces and police caps from all over the world.
i think they're at the attic of my folks.

    Back Story:

What started as a war of words in the Internets spilled into the Systema trainings halls of Russia, the origin of the Systema warrior and home of the Spetsnaz special operations unit.

    Story:

Vadim Starov, backed by a bunch of his students dojo-storms the Moscow Systema Training center, calling out Valeriy Frolov to a Fight To The Death (tm). Given that both of these Men are known for their non-contact energy fighting, this would be a battle of truly epic proportions. Faleriy Frolov's students, who are dressed in the traditional special forces uniforms and who greatly outnumber the dojo-stormers scatter so as not to be caught in the shock-wave of pure awesomeness that is bound to result from the clash of the titans. Valeriy Frolov, secure in the knowledge of his lethal skills and not wanting to demolish a large part of Moscow, refuses the challenge. Starov, indignant, rushes him and initiates combat with a Spetsnaz Pimp-Slap (tm) which would have killed a lesser man where he stood.

The rest of the epic battle is presented to you, dear viewer, in the last 5 second or so of this YouTube video.

    Both sides claimed victory.
Really. What the fuck was that shit?

so it sounds like the American asking if they chewed the bear to death, to which the Russian replies, "no, we shot him"

Anyway, you guys made me remember a pretty nice thematic joke (enjoyable for those who master the Russian or any other Slavic language at least a bit):

A group of American tourists in the Russian Siberia watches amazed as several Russian indigenous people carry a very large dead bear tied to a huge tree branch. They ask with respect:
    -Grizzly?
The Russians knock on their foreheads and reply:
    -Nye grizli, streljali.
    Push ups.
