    Wingchunx2z's sparring video's

Well, guys it's been a hectic day. First off I met my friind this mornnig and set everything up. Damn if you weren't right about normal video camera's not working when filming sparring.

    Very strange.. it broke.

So we sparred anyway but no filming. This was backyard MMA complete with takedowns, puling guard and an armbar attempt. After this was class from 1<5 so I literally went out to best buy on my way to kung fu fight club for sparring class. I picked up a new cam and managed to get some decent footage from fight club but since we dont have it matted yet I couldn't drop anyone so it was kept mostly standing. I did shoot a 50 percent power double leg but since I couldnt really dump him I just worked on controlling the hips and coming back up for clinch and double underhook.

the following 2 links are the footage I got tonight. so, as I suspected my wing chun sparring videos are up before sifu parlatti. /sigh.

Im hoping that this will spawn a new wave of wing chun fighters getting out there and really working their stuff under pressure. At the very least, now some people can see that I am indeed a wing chun practicioner and I do love to spar. Also keep in mind that yes, I did get hit. I also blocked a good number of them and used a few wing chun tactics successfully. As I continue to spar I believe my skills will continue to increase. I will continue to work hard and dilligently to do so.

And so it seems that I am now officially out of the box lumped with: "delusional chunner that does't spar."

And now, what you've all been waiting for:

Taken from the YouTube description for the first video:

Me and some of my wing chun classmates working on applying our techniques and principals against resisting opponents in full contact sparring.
    (Bolding is mine)

That was in no way full contact. Props for posting video, but let's be honest here.

That is up for debate, I consider it ful contact becasue all of ym attacks were launched with the intention to connection. or making contact. If you want to ask if it was full power then no. (though several of the punches to head were) But if you have a diff definition of full contact np. It's really semantics to me.

Why were you guys on the big wooden circle in the vids? Do you guys just stop after an exchange? I was a little confused because it just seemed like you guys stopped randomly, or at least when it went off the circle?

Full contact means full power. Not full power = not full contact.

And dismissing this as nothing but "semantics" is retarded. The meaning of what you say matters.

Isn't your mom gonna be mad that you put her dining room tabletop on the floor to dance on with your friends?

Why don't you make a sparring video where you guys are actually hitting each other... this is bs. If you want you can slightly pull your punches and kicks, but you should be making contact (aka the contact in "full contact") with every hit that isn't avoided. So yah, do it:).

well, that was their preference. Wing chun is a close quarters art. there'es a part of the system where you will traditionally learn to fight on a wooden table with limited room to move around. They liek fighitng on the table as it forces you to learn angles and watch your footwork or get knocked off. A few times we continued after I was knocked off but it mostly reset partially due to their cardio and partially due to the nature of sparring. When we spar we will usually break off and reset after a certain amount of blows have been exchanged.

This seems to be a common trait in most sparring. Butr yeh to answer your main question the wooden table is a part of the wing chun system.

I was fully aware you would at this site try to discredit it but I assure you we were making contact and my head was blown back by quite a few punches as well as driving forward into my opponents and the final kick in video one was damaging enough that we decided to end it. I'm not goign to argue wiht you on your observations however, the punches were real the resistance was real and I have posted the video exactly as I said I was going to.

Try to play it down if you guys wish but I was there and on the receiving end of the punches and kicks. I know how it was. The video is mainly for youtube and to try to show any chunners that our art can be applied in sparring if you are willing to try it. Showing it to you guys is simply for the few peole here that would genuinely liek to see a wing chun fighter trying to apply his techniques under pressure.

                    Poorly done.

Thanks for lowering the standard on full contact sparing.

Don't bother hitting the High Quality button guys. As someone mentioned on the TKD thread a few days ago, it doesn't seem to improve anything.

Bro take it from an ex foom foomer that is shit. The contact is NOT full power so fail on the full contact. You can begrudgingly call it 'hard' contact which = semi imo, and nobody is debating that you are actually trying to hit each other in the face pretty hard but full contact = 'im gonna knock you out while your contact = 'im gonna hit you.

The table thing is also lame to the extreme so just forget that shit.

Actually try and knock each other out and just dont worry about anything as if you are fairly evenly skill matched no one is gonna get hurt and if your skill sets are vastly different then the better one can dial it down and work on other things (or he can just blast the crap outta the weaker one, thats always fun ;)

This shit actually hurt my eyes when i tried to watch all of it. Get out of wing chun and do it NOW

Then fuck off. You posted video, and I applauded you for it, but if you can't take criticism then go somewhere else.

I can take criticism just fine, however I'm not goign to lay down and say I agree with you thanks for showing me the light when I don't agree. I have a differnt opinion. You're all more than welcome to state your own but its not neccesarily going to change mine.
