Three times a week, Hockman ran 2 miles, performed 200 kick, 100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, and meditated for 20 minutes. He refreshed his knowledge of all the learned material in the Songahm Taekwondo program from White Belt through Sixth Degree Black Belt. There are 16 sets of learned forms, weapons skills, and self-defense maneuvers.
Jesus burgerflipping Christ, this is pushing yourself?

I need to start a ninjitsu dojo because it looks like i'm a martial arts superman and didn't even know it.

Think about that again remembering how short TKD kata are.

Why do they wear satin* turtlenecks under their TKD jackets?

That website makes me hate TKD so much. So goddamned much.

              *I'm betting rayon actually.

No pain no gain isn't true either.

Word. it's a complete misnomer. No effort no gain.

But that doens't rhyme as well.

so this school teaches elite self-defense and "UFC Fitness" and you never have to hit or be hit because they use "state of the art" equipment and innovative training methodology. they even claim to teach BJJ...

                  I'm sold
I can actually believe they could teach BJJ without pain (and without hitting someone, or being hit).

I mean, it'd be less effective obviously, but once you tapped out quickly.

I mean, i know i've only been doing judo a short while, but the only pain i've had is one accidental shoulder injury, and muscle fatigue.

But how they could claim to teach striking without hitting......

I'm not saying that. what I'm saying is that they're probably making a fraudulent claim because I doubt anyone their is capable or certified to teach BJJ in any way.

And now lets merge this thread with the McDojo awareness day thread and dojo storm that shit hole, choke out every body who is not wearing a heavily patched Gi and then have a few drinks at the next bar where we proceed to choke out the tapout fanbodys, agreed?!

When you become a blackbelt there you gain not only deadly fighting skills but also a new attitude!

Children and adults may qualify for the Black Belt Club by displaying a Black Belt Attitude. A student with a Black Belt Attitude displays courtesy, respect, discipline, integrity, persevereance, & self-control in both the Martial Arts classroom and in everyday life!

and no wonder with all these valuable rules:

6.) Students are encouraged to participate in class enthusiastically, however they are to avoid unnecessary conversation.
12.) All belts should be tied to hang evenly, as one side represents the mind and the other represents the body.

WHAT??? I'm not talking joint pain or injury pain damn it! If your muscles dont' hurt and you feel like you're taking a maniana and just socialising in the dojo, than WTF, dude?

To get good at fighting requires a lot of cardio pain.

Hard work is a necessary, but not sufficient, precondition for improvement.

Are you kidding? ATA is barely certified to train TKD. Of course they don't know how to teach BJJ.
Hell, when I went to ATA, the school I trained at claimed to teach XMA. Problem though, the instructor could barely jump, let alone do the ridiculous fancy kicks. ATA is just Tiger Shoman's. Replace Karate with TKD and you're set.
