There's usually a difference between "pretty good" and "top of the food chain". There are maybe a dozen guys in this country who can beat me without breaking a sweat. Back then, there were roughly that many in my school alone.

Did you compete in Micheal Hasselien's tournaments or are they having more events in south Bayern? Before it was either drive to Rheiland Pfalz or up to Berlin. There was some little ones in Garmisch but I lost track of Tapout King so I don't know how its going now.

It's getting better. Tapout King organized two events in 2006, which I went to. Haven't heard from him since. Michael Haselein hosts some reasonably big tournaments; the other organizers are the Shidokan org led by Peter Angerer, and Christoph Schadek in Karlsruhe.
