I remember J-Lau showing up at a Boston throwdown... having declared himself "a white belt with a couple fights." Understatement FTW.
I remember lots of drama about a certain moderator handing the root password to a certain poster, under the condition that this poster do his best to cause a site meltdown. I remember sadly shaking my head when that poster later became a mod.
I remember even more drama revolving around a certain drama whore who never amounted to anything when it came to MA, but caused the bitter departure of some pretty experienced posters.
I remember wasting way too many hours on this site... which is part of why I hardly come here anymore.

edit: Beatdown Richie! Where ya been, duuuude?!
I remember Beatdown Richie's bodylock on "the
sixth deadly venom" at the 1st Mega-Throwdown!
Strangely hilarious, watching someone gasp for air
and flail their arms. . .

I'm still training enough to win a couple of tournaments (including the German Open in BJJ and the German submission wrestling championships - which says a lot about the underdeveloped state of grappling in this country). And I'm trying to spread the gospel on a German forum where people still believe in pressure points and the merits of bunkai.

I actually miss the old times... the MegaThrowdown was a lot of fun. And I'm still looking and waiting for a good opportunity to go back to Vegas, and some other places in the US.

I remember Wastrel, the first guy I met in real life that I met on the internet first. We worked out a few times, he showed me an anaconda choke. We got kicked off the mats by aikidoka who had them reserved. Had lunch several times. I remember missing his wedding because of moving. That sucked.
I remember Jamoke calling my office. That sucked.
I remember Tim Craig. He still wants me to nominate him to sigma xi.
Oh and blade and wasting years of training time on crap even after joining.

Did you compete in Micheal Hasselien's tournaments or are they having more events in south Bayern? Before it was either drive to Rheiland Pfalz or up to Berlin. There was some little ones in Garmisch but I lost track of Tapout King so I don't know how its going now.______

You can't practice Judo just to win a Judo Match! You practice so that no matter what happens, you can win using Judo! The key to fighting two men at once is to be much tougher than both of them.
