    You're full of shit.
-No grappling matches between absolute begginers or people who can't grapple at all
Why? Because it reflects badly on the site and on throwdowns? How about matches between squeegees and broomsticks?

-Display a reasonable level of competence. I'll be fair and average out my judgement so whole groups aren't taking flack for one pizdoff.
Fuck your judgement. The number of people who give a shit is limited to one.

-spar with some intensity. I'm not expecting full contact pride rules but you should go 70% at least once per TD
Yeah, and use squeegees and motherfucking broomsticks. Are you fucking kidding me? People are going to do whatever they want to.

-be funnier. T3H R34L jokes sound even more brain damaged in audio than in text
Don't talk at all, wear a mouthpiece.

-if awful things are happening and you actually are good enough to be correcting the people involved, do so. Stop them if you must.
Really? Because I've seen three minutes of squeegee vs broomstick. Go hard or go home, motherfucker.

-stop acting like throwdowns are the litmus test of fighting ability. They aren't.
    Stop acting.
-I don't discourage people who do awful martial arts to not show up, quite the opposite, i'm just discouraging them from sparring with other awful stylists then giving each other creamy handjobs over how functional their Aikido/Wing Chun Mixed Martial Combat blends are. In fact, in the case of chunners, ninjas, and the like, all the blue belts and above and/or people with good amatuer thai boxing records should line up and take turns absolutely humiliating them.
You must miss the glory days of wrestling ninja in dirt patches by the side of the road. Things have come a long way since then. Your kind is no longer necessary.

When does the lowly BJJ white belt get to attend the aforementioned TD's? Is there a point where someone new to a style would be welcomed at such an event without the need for someone to try to choke the life out of them for being new?

Fuck that. Throwdowns are serious business.

              Go hard or go home.

Don't you think you're reaching a bit with those similes?

Neither myself nor UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn appreciated your attempt to make fun of people who wear gis.

I apologize for misunderstanding your meaning, I, BJ, and Mario Sperry all agree that choking karateka/taekwondoists is a beautiful thing.

Hedge, now that you've clarified yourself a bit more, I actually feel ya on this. While I'm not going to stop Joe Chunner and Ninja Bob from engaging in a submission grappling match, I think sufficient critique as they are rolling would be beneficial. A good first-hand experience following the roll on what was discussed int he critique would be even better.

Seriously, there's enough extra bits stuck in there to qualify her as a cyborg.

If we are ever at a TD together, I'd be happy to spar with you, but please don't pull out a Colt .45 and blow me away like a hack-made bitch.

Please ignore the rampant e-posturing. I'd be happy to roll or go stand-up with you next time.

Speaking of which, thanks for rolling light with me last time, my ribs appreciated it.
Shut the hell up and train.

Anything remotely resembling competency would require months of training. Imagine a BJJer walking into a boxing gym and flailing away. He doesn't need a few hints. He needs to learn how to box.
Nah that's not what I meant. We've had a few people come to the TD's around here, and claim that they were looking to "train." Some were pissed we held the TD's so far apart because they wanted to "work on some stuff." All we say in response is to point them in the direction of the local schools and fight camps if that's what they're looking for. We're here to spar, not teach. Nothing wrong with working some stuff on the side, but TD's shouldn't turn into Guard Pass 101 Seminars.

What I was trying to say is that I agree with Hedge that leaving two people to crapple unconfronted is not a positive thing, nor is it conducive towards the goals of this site.
