Whenever I see or hear people calling my art "Jujitsu" or "Jiu-Jitsu" or some other butchering of the word I start seeing red. "Jutsu" means art "Jitsu" means truth GET THAT THROUGH YOUR F@#$ING SKULLS CHITE! I also see people saying that it completely involves Grappling. Grappling or Kannuki actually is only 1/4 of the principles of the art. The other 3 are: Kata guruma (Throwing), Ashinata (Immobilization) and tentsuki ( striking) . Jujitsu = Westernized Japanese influenced art (normally prior to 1993)
Jiu-Jitsu = Brazilian influenced art

Jujutsu, jujitsu and jiujitsu are all different romanizations for the same kanji.

Moreover, the different romanizations carry different connotations in English. As previously mentioned, when spelled Jiu-Jitsu, it usually means BJJ. I told someone I did "Brazilian Jujutsu" I would just sound wierd.
