A) A stupid teen spending more time in fantasies than in being out there and something more productive of his age (do sports and homework.) So he needs a slap in his neck,

B) An adult still acting like a teen in the 80's after watching "BloodSport". Ninja please. Such a person deserves a slap in the neck and a foot on his ass.

C) A troll doing a poor job, so maturity goes off the window.

So forgive us for not willing to partake in a silly-nilly circle-jerking tea party with the aforementioned OP. To have a mature discussion devoid of assholery, you need to have a basic premises that deserves such treatment.

There's a big difference between letting someone know where they're wrong and just ripping them a new one. There were maybe 5 or 6 comments out of the entire 50+ (can't be bothered to see how much are actually written) who were actually productive. I'm not sanctimonious but some people, like you, for instance, are really assholes. It's not like he's coming with an "I'm better than you" attitude, but just a misguided one about "street fighting". Either way I bet being nicer will help people like you better in real life. Just try it. (those 2 last sentences was just to sum up, I don't really care)

I have Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Lots of potential, but not enough big payoff. If only that game had more head bussing action, like say, Gears of War, which I've been running red hot on my Xbox 360. Now that's a man's console. And then there's the Orange Box, Bioshock and so on. The wii has so much potential, but no delivery yet.

Carrying weapons that are of cultural value? Well, you're not supposed to. They're meant to be stowed away as safely as possible and used in demonstrations etc ONLY. I have seen a training shortsword go through 5 inches of hardwood.

Hitting somebody who is on the ground after you have dropped them? Assault

Attacking somebody who is unarmed with a weapon (unless you're defending your home or have other reason to believe they are REALLY going to hurt you) Assault with a deadly weapon.

Rake out an eye, bite off a nose, fracture a leg? Assault occasioning grievous bodily harm (the equivalent of assault and battery)

Stabbing or slashing somebody so they bleed to death? Murder, unless you can prove self defence.

Sure our weapons laws suck, but they're there for a reason. Australia has a much lower homicide rate than the US as a result. I personally wanna hoof around in leathers, boots helmet bearded axe and shield but I'm not allowed.

I was considering that too. I'm already addicted to Halo 3 from one weekend of gaming at a cousin's house. But now that Bungie has broken off from microsoft all bets are off as to what system there next big release will be on. Hell maybe they'll even make their own platform though i doubt it.

Either way what I'm saying is that one of the most popular MA boards (and the one that most likely contains the biggest number of people who can actually fight) shouldn't adopt this whole "AIKIDO IS GAY NINJITSU IS GAY TKD IS GAY BLAH BLAH BLAH CAN'T HEAR YOU CHUNNER LARPER" attitude to newbies, be a *little* more "friendly" to these people. Instead of letting the thread stay open so that people could ventilate their daily frustration on the topic opener, just lock the topic and say "lurk more and read more, then post, or post in newbietown", etc.

I've followed El Macho's posting on this board for some time, and even met him once in real life, and I can honestly say there are few people on this board whose opinion I respect more. If he is attacking you, the problem is with you.
