There's a typical new(er) guy at our school who is big and comes to class a lot. Problem is that he does techniques for the most part with brute strength and when it comes to our striking art, he just does street-style punches and blocks that we don't have.
Now.. this could be a good training opportunity to practice against more realistic attacks, or a chance to get hurt (again). I had a major injury from this guy that put me out for a few months already. Last night, we were pretty much wailing on each other unlike anyone else in class and we actually punched each others' fists-this morning I have a bit of a sore finger.
I don't mind a few bumps and bruises, but I also don't want to be out of work bc this guy is just streetfighting in class.
Avoid him to avoid injury, or train with him anyway and force myseld to get that much better?
