I'm talking to one potential ref, and he wants to know if he can be included in the release. That sounds fair to me. Could someone scan the normal fight house release?

Secondly he wanted to know if we could get a volunteer EMT there.

I have told Sam would consider acting as ref for you guys. Clarify the details, rules, etc, with Sam. Let me know. I am free on the 9th, but I guess that is out? Sam can get me all the details. I am not going to bother following this thread just to keep impartial in case I do ref for you guys. Just let me know if everything gets worked out. I PM'd Sam my concerns about my involvement. Also, I will ref and MMA fight or a submission or draw grappling match (No points. Sub or draw with a time limit). I don't ref BJJ rules, so if that is what you want I can't help you.

I know of no EMT's that can be there. I do not have a FightHouse release. Also, I do not think having a uniformed EMT is a good idea, I do not want the FightHouse people getting scared or something.

All I want is me and whoever I fight and a camera.
If smabosteve is available to ref on the 9th that is great and I appreciate that.

Any BS'ers show up then fine, but I made a challenge thread on Perry's site myself after reading the MySpace thread and seeing his forums. I am making it clear that Bullshido is not behind this, just me, but I appreciate all the help BS offers.

Also, just to be clear, if the ref stops the fight for some reason giving me the win but the win is disputed by them (he was in no danger etc.) I will likely just restart and keep fighting.

If the ref is not happy with this that is fine and the ref can choose to leave. I do not want any side complaining about "oh it was a bad call" or "the ref sucks, he was fine".

thanks for stepping up to do this, steve. i don't have enough referee experience yet, but am glad that you are willing as you are probably the best man for the job.

i will ask a couple of friends who are EMTs if they would be willing to be there (not in uniform) just to give basic first aid or stop a nosebleed if needed. i think there might be a liability issue if they are not there in an official capacity, however, i'm not sure.

Regarding my acting as ref, I figured I better just post here so Sam and I are not playing telephone. Let me say that I agree with LI GUY 1 that this really should be a quiet affair with few observers. Here are a few things that must be in place if I will ref. If any of these seem to be a problem, I am sure you guys can fins someone else. Ask anyone on here. I have plenty of experience as the third man in, have a reputation as a fair and professional person, and am very trustworthy. If I ref, I want the fight to be reputable. So, this is what I require:

1) My name is put on any waivers of liability
2) There must be an EMT present- if you guys want to fight, and I am officiating, I want there to be a person there who can handle any first aid issues, emergencies, etc. Peggy (from fighthouse) won't mind. It would be better for her club anyway in case someone gets hurt.
3) My judgement, in case of a stoppage, restarts, or whatever, is final - if fighters can't live with this, than you have no need for a referee. Just go fight on your own terms somewhere.
4) I am provided with clear rules in advance and review all rules with all fighters before the fight.

I am not trying to be difficult. And, I am cool if you want to get someone else, but if I am going to do it (which I obviously don't have a problem with) then these factors must be taken care of.

No need to wish me luck...LOL. I am simply volunteering my time. I have no investment as to whether this all actually comes together. I could care less really. I just figured I would offer my services and help out. No sweat off my brow if it does not.

so far i am striking out on the EMT front... haven't been able to get in touch with either guy. will update if that changes.

i hope someone else has a lead on a friendly EMT, i could bring my cornering kit that has basic first aid, nosebleed QR, etc, but i am no EMT.
