This is the most beautiful thread ever. I love the trademarks and the British English. If you ever stop, I will hunt you down. Consider yourself committed.

This is great. I think I'm going to reread the other "diary of..." threads.

Knife defences, Christ, the similarity between the Wobbl-U Tee and JJ (2nd-3rd Dan) I'm now getting very concerned (and worried). :sign13:

Another good reason to learn from the nascent Master.

              Essential reading.

                  If Running Dog will permit.....

Look up "Wing Tsun" under Leung Ting and Keith Kernspecht and things may become clearer (like they claim copyright and trademarks etc..)

I think. Well, from what I can remember of past Interviews with dem Meisters in COMBAT mag (UK) and the like. You might also find the reaction when Emin Boztepe left WT. Some hilarious letters went back and forth...

                  Hope this helps.

                    Runningdog,

I know it is very late into Ving Tsun Blows month, but have you considered changing your name to Tsunningdog for the duration?

I hope the Chunner meets Aubrey de Grey and gets a beer mug smashed over his head*

*Aubrey de Grey is a very brilliant and peaceful person.

I am loving this thread!! Dreadful memories are being dredged up here.....

I wish this stuff was made up. If you want to truly rot your brain, go to http://www.wongvingtsun.co.uk/vtkicks.htm where I found these images, and some amazing text.

Figures 1 and 2 show kicking from two popular positions of stance, the stance when stationary and the stance when moving. Both Figure 1 and 2 are based on the scenario that the opponent is in range or is coming forward with a kick so stepping first to bridge is not necessary. Figure 1 shows two alternatives of standing stationary with the feet positioned as R1 and L1 where R1 is pointing at the target and would be the kicking leg or as R2 and L2 where L2 points at the target and would be the kicking leg. (In all these three diagrams, R is for the right foot and L is for the left foot.) In Figure 1 R1 is the kicking leg and is driven by L1 pushing forward to generate the force and therefore negates the need for shifting the body weight to L1 before kicking as the forward force then compensates for gravity trying to upset the stance on the side that the foot has left the ground.

Regrettably I sold my copy of Wing Tsun Kuen by Leung Ting, on Ebay. So cannot post the highly educative photos and diagrams contained therein.

                                RunningDog this thread is gold!

I espexially loved the part about training with the grandmaster in his castle. I know they actually have one in Lanzgrell but it just made the reading sound that much more ominous.
