Mark the calendar and make sure to visit the same karate dojo in exactly 15 years to see whether they learned to defend themselves... On camera, please. Thanx.

There's a dojo near Boston, called Don McDonalds....I shit you not. I saw it on the busride to the studio (yeah, I roll like that) Don't know if it's a mcdojo, but if it were...it would be priceless. I don't know if I'll drop in for a class....I'm not sure I could keep a straight face.

I'm tainted from too much exposure to bullshido language.

"You might like them, but they will get you punched in the face. " and you know this because??

You can strike a lot harder with other types of punch but chain punches are great for overwhelming an opponent

            1) You get at least 6" more range from a jab or cross than from chainpunches.

            2) The _ing _un wu sao/man sao guard is useless for protecting your head.

            3) While you are doing your stupid arrow-walk, anyone with any standup sparring experience will offline and... Guess what? That's right! Punch you in the face.

Agreed. While you may be keeping their hands occupied, there's nothing to stop someone kicking or kneeing you while you're batting against their guard.

The only people who'll be "overwhelmed" by chain punches are those with no experience.

This is true, though it is a sizeable subset of Western societies, to be fair. It also includes groups such as the mentally deficient, old people, children, blind people, blind drunk people and unconscious people, most of whom will indeed be overwhelmed by the deluge of shitty punches.

Aye, my friends and I saw someone attacking an elderly man with what appeared to be chain punches. We shit kicked that guy. His deadly Chun(-esque?) hardly kicked into multiple attack defeating mode.

But then that's Birmingham for you. :|

Do you know he did WC though?

Otherwise you'll get people saying that he "wasn't doing the technique right" and how 1337 and deadly it is when pulled off by a chun'er.

Birmingham.. It's got it's good bits, but yeah, it's pretty grim for the most part.
