Even without training, most Jersey kids will try and emulate what they've seen in boxing.

Yes Yes Yes. Fuck all of you traditionalists that use Street vs Ring as a debate tactic.

Most people know how to fight from watching boxing. No, it doesn't mean they are skilled but, they don't want to get hit anymore than you do. The person on the street that you will encounter is going to be just as well trained at fighting as you. More so if you don't spar.

Scratch that, they will be better attuned to the adrenal dump. For every kiddie BB you hear scaring off a punk there are thousands of would be trained Martial Artists dead because of the "we are trained for the street" mentality.

          Conclusions of the thread

          1. Chain punching works if you are 350lbs and fight random people in the street who laugh at your size.

          2. Wing Chun still sucks

          Plz close thread

Personally, if doing chain punches, i would aim for the throat.

                      Good luck with that,

I hope you never run into a boxer.

...or pretty much anyone who's ever gotten into a scrap with their friends, just for fun.

Seriously, do people actually think it's THAT easy to land a deadly throat strike?

...that's the point. If the main damage theory of a martial art pre-supposes that the opponent is going to leave their most vital organs open to death strikes, it's safe to say that martial art is built upon false pretenses.
