This is Wing Tsun (it says). Although the show is small and I objectively think that the competency of the "muy thai" dude could be succesfully argued against, the WT guy won this one.

Tonuzaba: people have all kinds of opinions, funded or not. But people here tend to accept reasonable claims and reasonable proofs. So if you can document cases where _ing _un has worked in open competition (or even live situation), please do so. Untill then let's accept that it probably doesn't work very well or we'd see it working.

Introspect, and tell me why is it (or why do you think is it) that people jump on you when you say that they need to prove TO YOU that _ing _un doesn't generally work in MMA competitions? I've been on this site since 2003 and every couple of months there's a new chunner popping up with EXACTLY the same arguments and the same lineage wars.

This is not an anti _ing _un agenda.

Here's the real issue many have here with Wing Chun

The idea that any one martial art is enough to compete in MMA or enough to be well rounded in 2007 is archaic and wrong.

If someone came on and claimed that Muay Thai was all they needed for MMA and that the dreaded Muay Thai Anti crapple id enough to defeat a good grappler they would get ridiculed.

If someone said pure BJJ in 2007 is enough they would get ridiculed.

WC is held to the same standard.

This Wingjitsu.net stuff shows it can be a good base as long as you embrace the philosophy of MMA, and mix your martial art by cross training in other complimentary martial arts rather than try and re invent the wheel.

I'm wondering what, if anything, I could actually use from WT in MMA. I'm thinking that some aggressive inside-gate punching could lead to a takedown attempt.
I guess being able to deliver strong and stable stamp-type kicks could do the same. I'll try stuff out when I get the chance.
