    WT in MMA

I have posted several times about Sifu Henning Daverne in Amateur Boxing, having 7 out of 7 victorys. His group in Europe is doing some MMA training/fighting but I finally found some video of his older boxing matchs, as featured in "on Single Combat" by Kernspecht.

    here:

It appears that some of this fight is at about 1:00 to 1:39 on this Youtubeclip. Atleast he is wearing same outfit and knocks down the same guy inpart of it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-RXm...52173&index=35
so we can see what it looks like.

To recap the story:He used the WT system to prepare for and then win 7 boxing fights. He is still using WT/Escrima and now also BJJ I think for training his fight team in Europe. This goes to show two points: First that WT has been used in the ring to win and second that the System of WT is a set of priniciples and theory that can be used to improve other martial arts.(caviate: Fight does not look like Chi Sau so don't go there, it looks like boxing because its boxing. And the fact it can improve martial arts doesn't mean that what YOU do needs improving. I am sure you allready know everything there is to know)

THe rest of the clip has some demos and what looks like some WT tournements or something.

(edit: moved by mod to YMAS, Yeah, now we can have fun with rep)

Goddamn that music made my ears bleed, combined with the god awful 'boxing' the clip has on it made it nigh unbearable.

The later stuff with the full face cages was nice to see tho, atleast you could tell that WC was being used.

Which organization is Daverne a member of?

      Edit: because I can't read.

        Is he a BS artist?

If not why post it here?

This should be in the video section or YMAS.

You all think WT is BS. So it is still under investigation. Mods should move it then.

Cool clip, though I'd hardly say this redeems WT, I will say that it shows that with hard sparring anyone can fight. The use of continuous striking in the boxing part was cool, as it showed the chain punching "concept" of overwhelming your opponent with numerous strikes in a clear fashion (and in a competition), as did the cage fighting show good use of standing folding elbows off of punches (even though they started in ridiculous chi sauing first).

Interresting Vid WC with a legitimate grappling art would make a decent combo IMO

That was pretty cool, with the exception of the sword form at the end of the clip. We Scandinavians can make anything work.

Is WT a "questionable martial" art or is it solid?

I posted it here for a reason. I have been supporting this site for almost 2 years, and the overall opinion is that WT is worthless and Leung Ting is a con artist and fraud. I could have posted this in the adolesent playground areas elsewere on this site but am not interested in another squid fest of Chun haters and Avd. D&D theory jokes.

You say you want to stop fraud and BS, so lets decide, is WT a fraud or not.
