I have no idea what to say in introduction. My partner reads the forum religiously and so I figured it must have some merit. I've been studying martial arts for a total of 6 years. The last 3 of those have been Tang Soo Do. Our particular flavor of TSD includes a lot of grappling and throws. We have a BJJ guy who guest instructs pretty regularly, lately.
Aside from the martial arts aspect of my life, I'm a mom (oh yeah, I forgot to mention I'm a *gasp* female martial artist) of two, I work at an Ivy League College, and I am a rare breed of non-hippy-dippy pagan. In fact, that's probably the last time I'll mention my religious beliefs unless someone asks. I listen to classical music, celtic, prog metal and techno. I love new experiences. As a result, I'm really lax about rereading books or rewatching movies, and I'll let you know if you've told me that story before. I like to write, draw, and make big men go thud. I'm just overall ecclectic.
In the past, I have had both good and bad experiences with martial arts instructors. I'm sure I'll have ample opportunity to talk about the bad ones here! My current instructor has a very good head on his shoulders and a very good perspective on teaching. In other words, he's still very much a student.
