And in case it's not clear, the reason why we don't see good WC is because the theories are inferior to other striking theories. Simple as that. In this case it's overcomplication. Is it easier to open a soda cap by simply twisting it off, or trying somehow to use a can opener on it? Sure perhaps you may somehow get the cap off with the can opener, but why not just use a technique that's simpler and more effective?

Tonzuba, I as well as many others have sparred WC practitioners. We were not impressed. Many people here are ex-WCers, many of which studied it for many years, only to find boxing a 100x more effective and efficient. When declaring this, we are simply told that who we sparred or where we trained is not a representation of every other Chunner/Tsunner. So then we seek video evidence to the contrary. We get none. We here at Bullshido open up throwdowns for us to meet up and see what we are all about in friendly sparring/rolling. We get none.

In all the years this site has been here, the elusive "good _ing _un" has been like a sasquatch in the wilderness.

I won't go all the way defending a video posted by someone else, but do you really see no difference? No difference between the strength of punches, the follow-up after the initial attack, etc.? I think it's kind of obvious, that the WT guy's Chi is much much weaker... ;-)

I am apparently not such a huge fan of video-proofs as many here are (not meaning I don't appreciate them from time to time). If you want to see/taste the difference for yourself, ask a wing chun and a Wing Tsun guy to spar and you will get a better answer than a hundred videos. You know, when I wanted to know if Praying Mantis as taught in Budapest sucks (being a WT freshman at that time), I went and participated on their training. To see that it does suck. So I can recommend this approach instead of "sitting-on-my-ass-and-waiting-to-get-served-my-portion-of-REAL-_ing_-un"... Is it so hard to find any _ing_un sparring partner to make your own conclusions? 'Cause most guys here make theirs based on a single old, grainy VHS video of the Boztepe-Cheung rendezvous...

And anyway, do you guys really mean this? Like WT-WC-VT-whatever lineage "wars" are any different than arguments between different karate, judo, jiu jitsu schools? In principle, it is about "the way my teacher teaches is better/more true to the theory set of the given art/more real/ in my opinion". Or?

1) Too deadly
2) Rules restrict the WCer too much
3) It's about the SREET not SPORT

As to the video you posted, thank you for it, because hopefully the more shitty w.c. proofs we have, the sooner you guys start to understand the point in discussing the differences between certain lineages. While I am not familiar with the school on video, I do know that any decent Wing Tsun practitioner obeys one of the basic rules of WT fighting: follow the opponent with continuous attacks. What you saw here was one counterattack and standing still. That is: bullshit.

And sorry for bothering you with that stupid question all the time and in a different thread than it was posted originally, but I was taught by my instructors to ask if there's something not clear to me. Ask until I get the answer told or shown. So it's your turn now. And a short video of you attending E.B's seminar and proving him to be an easy to destroy pussy would make black mariah and about 2703 other guys here wet their pants (and I'm not talking about urine right now...)
