Hi. You are reading an archive of the legendary Bullshido forums, from 2002-2020. Please visit our NEW and (arguably) improved forums at https://forums.bullshido.net.
(Or don't, this is just an announcement and nobody's holding a gun to your head.)
As far as wrestling goes too, we never ever ever kept all of our weight on one foot, moving 100% from leg to leg. To counter a takedown you sprawled or sunk your weight. You kept weight on both feet, to different degrees but they changed rapidly and without thought in the match. The only time I can remember having a weight distribution like you talked about was when the other guy snatched my leg up.
When you do a hip throw, the person first goes up and then over. I tie up and get underhooks, step in between their legs with mine while turning my hips so my butt is in their crotch(I know, so gay). When I do this my hips are lower and under his because I bend at the knees. When I want to throw I just lift up and toss with my arms, he flies over my hips and onto the mat. Thats how a hip throw goes up first.
