WT is Leung Ting's money making (for him & Keith Kernspect) version of WC.They have it designed to where it takes you several decades & tens upon tens of thousands of dollars to learn. One of the worlds worst examples of a McDojo enterprise.
WT has produced some excellent fighters (like Emin Boztepe) over the years but they are few & far between. Most of them have abandoned WT due to the money-grubbing enviroment.

        Quit wasting your time!!!!

Just get out NOW & find something else!Life is too short.

Take the money you lost as a learning experience. You haven't learned anything worthwhile in the time you have spent there so far so what more do you think you will learn in the remaining time that you have left on your contract.

        GET OUT NOW!!!!!!

yeah that's what our Sifu keeps saying as well. WT is not WC.

& that WT is far better than WC etc.

Have you paid in advance. If not, just don't show up. He won't take you to court because it's bad publicity.

Oh no, looks like you didn't do the REAL wing tsun! You should have done wing CHUN instead. That would have made you an unstoppable owner-machine in just a week.

              Spelling is everything.

It's a lesson learned. Not only did you know nothing about martial arts, but you knew nothing about the art you joined or the school you joined. You'll know better next time.

It was very easy to get into and I liked it at the beginning. Altough I already noticed that the other student's that already trained for a year had no advantage over me / beat me in "free latse" (however you spell that).
Were you sparring or doing chi sao only? Keep in mind that students who are sparring might not necessarily be trying to beat each other's brains out. On occassion I'll just go at it with someone, but more often than not I'm working on something specific, such as footwork, bridging distance, or relaxation.

Our instructor keeps saying that muscle mass doesn't matter in WIng Tsun. That's absolute bull sh*t. None of the other students has a chance vs me when we fight. I even smacked the instructor down once when he wanted to demonstrate some grappling attacks on me.
Speaking strictly from my class, we are taught to derive power from our lower body and structure. I'm not sure if I'd go far as to say muscle isn't important, but it shouldn't be your primary source of power, at least in WC. The downside is that learning to develop power from structure and movement is easier said than done.

Paying to test is lame. I'd leave on that basis alone. Good luck with whatever you find.

I second that motion... provide he already has a fucked up credit record, like me.

See, I was in a contract not long ago (by sheer act of stupidity and lack of research), and it didn't suit me nor gave me what I needed. Long story short, I stopped making the payments 3 months before the contract ended. Lo and behold, my credit report says I'm delinquent for $400+ dollars. I don't care. My credit is fucked anyways, and that's just a moskito byte.

For anyone out there who has a clean record, DO NOT DO THAT!!!! That shit can bite you in the ass in the future when you try to buy a home or lease a car.

Now, regarding the OP, well, how do you make your payments? Are they made automatically????? Or you have to write a check?

When worse come to worse, just pay, but don't go. You'll be better off jogging the shit out of your tennis and pump iron at the gym. If you could get a doctor to sign a letter saying you have a back problem or something. Then you can take that letter to your Shitfu so that he can cancel the contract.

But I'd strongly advise NOT to break the contract and let the unpaid fees pile up... unless you already have a shitty credit record.

if your instructor says theres a difference between wing tsun and wing chun he's a fucking moron, thats like saying gung fu, gong fu, and kung fu are all different. wing chun doesnt *suck* your school sucks. apparently a lot of wing chun schools are total bullshit, even tho you'll probably never want to do wing chun again, if you go to a wing chun school ask if they spar full contact, and see if theres any protective pads, gloves, headgear you have to buy in your *package* to start training. if theres not your schools a joke.

i know everyone hates wing chun so i wont try to convince you otherwise.

Sounds like both you and the Wing Tsun suck.

Lat Sau is not about "beating" each other, it is a partner drill. You help your partner learn to react, not beat them down.

WT is not about winning with strength, but winning when when you have less strength then the other guy. It is still something you need to learn and doesn't somehow get better the weaker you are. You still need to be as strong as you can, it just may be less then the other guy. Then what? Big guys have trouble learning this if noone in the class is stronger then them, so they then often turn the material into something else.

You smashed the instructor down when he demoed something? You broke the rules in a tournament and then are mad that they disqualified you? Your proud that you won, when the other guys where limited by a rule set and you weren't? Your an ass.

The First test was too easy for you? Your mad about some sorry ass that also got through the first test? Its the first grade, it only requires you to show up. They get progressively harder.

It sounds like not only does the Wing Tsun in your country suck, but you also suck at being a student. Find a better instructor.

caviate: Wing Tsun is a money making machine in Europe. Combined with the false soft sparring and the inability for people to teach properly, it does seem to suck alot more then produce. The fact that you say you do forms for most of class shows that it is not following the proper WT sylibis to begin with. Forms are for at home when you are ALONE. No more then 15 minutes in class should be used, just to warm up and to check the technical stuff. Class is for partner work.

or, You may be stuck doing forms because you refuse to work with your partners and do what you are being taught and instead just bully them.

                        go back to hockey

                        o, welcome to Bullshido.

I understand, I was talking about "free lat sau" this is what we do the last 10 minutues of the class. Where everyone fights each other using WT only.

You smashed the instructor down when he demoed something?
He specifically said to me to resist the attack to make it as realistic as possible.

There never was a rule that we have to stick to WT Style only. They probably decided that it looks bad for WT if they let me continue.

This happened at Grade 5. I haven't done this grade as I haven't graded since the 1st one.
I rather take my wife out for a meal that give WT more of my money.

I don't bully anyone. Everyone in the Class does the same thing. Only higher levels and lower levels are seperate.

                          go back to hockey
I'm still playing. It's great. Thank you.

Thank you very Much. And thanks for your comments. I was hoping for some information from someone else that has/is trained WT.

I have been more specific with my answers so I'd welcome your comments.

Listen to Dr. Tzun Tzu, for HE actually has THE real "Hwinng Tsuun "(new proper spelling).

If you don't believe me... just check out Grandmaster Emin B. 's amazing 6th grade school-yard girl-fight with another Wing Chun "grandmaster."

                            Very honorable.

WTF piece of shit WT school did you go to? theres no fuckin reason why he should be trying to teach you grappling. From my experiences there is NO way shape or form of grappling in WT

:eatbaby: as far as strength is concerned WT teaches you to use your body structure instead of just your arm muscles
