    Advantages of the small guy?

Does anyone know any more advantages of being the small guy? I was told by this taller guy that he woulda RNCd me if I was taller.

So what are other advantages of the little guy in a fight? Or are there no advantages at all and I should just train harder?

This has been discussed ad nauseam. There are no inherent advantages to being a small guy. You make of it what you will.

I am small and I am faster than most people. Being small does not necessarily make this so however.

I train like a mother f-er to have endurance so I can outlast my opponents. This is a product of hard work.

I am flexable and can get in and out of crazy positions on the ground. That is due to genetics and also due to my stretching regiment.

I am strong for my size. However this is because I lift weights.

I would consider myself fairly tough, with a high pain tolerance and I fight tooth and nail. This is because I decided long ago to not be a pussy and grabbed my balls.

Get the point? You are what you put into it. Now shut the fuck up and go train you little girly man.

Oh yeah, welcome to Bullshido... You are not THAT new but still new enough. Let me know how it goes.

Edit - Explain to me your MMA training. Just curious as I see this in everyones style field now.

I would say a good inside game or rather an aggressive inside game. Speaking as a tall lanky guy, a shrimpy lil somme bitch blitzing inside my range is a little bit frightening.

You should train to diffuse any "advantages" you think a fighter would have.

All of your success stories will sound cooler. Whenever I do well sparring against someone, the response is "well, you are bigger than him." For you, it will be "damn, you whipped that big guy's ass."

Where I trained in the late nineties my instructor used me as the nOoB and giant killer. I would always be the first person they sparred with and I guess it was to prove a point. It does make for some cool success stories for sure although it didn't always work out as planned. haha

only advantages i can think of are the fact that people usually expect less of you and that you have a lower center of gravity.

oh... and one last one, by punching at your shortness, they might end up hitting your forehead alot thereby breaking their wrists. that no joke happened.

Being shorter gives a lower center of gravity (which has already been mentioned) therefore it should be easier to get you hip underneath someone when trying to execute throws.

Also when you're shorter you're closer to the ground so throws hurt less.

And when out numbered on the street you can hide behind Fire Hydrants

Plus you can easily straight blast taller guys in the groin

Also when you're trying to escape with a magic ring it's easier to hide from black riders.

Its easier to do 540 spining kicks. Huge muscular guys suck at this.

Smaller guys have less muscle in their way so they fight faster.

Smaller guys can run under their opponents in a fight. If they do this enough, the larger opponenet will TKO himself because he is too dizzy to fight.

I don't think the hindrance to bodybuilders' speed is big muscles, per se. It's the stiffness and tension that often results from heavy lifting.

lol, on a couple of occasions when I visited classes, I ended up being that giant.

What I find kind of amusing is that a lot of people seem to think that if you're a 6'6" bodybuilder, you must necessarily have a big ego and you need to be put in your place. Great, you kicked my ass. Yeah, sure showed me. Would you like me to sign an official notice of vanquishment?

admittedly, alot of smaller guys have the tiniest bit of a napoleon syndrome, but guys who look like :wcacjack usaully are cocky as all hell about their ability to kick a little man's ass. and hey, if getting your ass kicked by a smaller dude is not the same type of thing as getting your ass tapped by a little lady for your ego, i don't know what is.

You can pretend you're a weak, innocent little pussy who doesn't want trouble, whilst lining yourself up to unleash the perfect sucker punch.

Caveat: This does not work in a ring fight scenario.

I guess it hurt your feelings to loose to a small guy. Have you gotten over it yet? Notice where I said "my instructor used me" and re-think your reply to my post. I have no ego, nor do I or did I have little man's syndrome or a Napolean complex. But if it makes you sleep better at night, then send me your official notice and I'll sign it.

Dont know many professional bodybuilders huh? Ever see a posing routine? That shit about being stiff and too tense is an old wives tale made up by pussies that want an excuse not to lift. Ronnie Coleman is damn near 300 lbs of muscle and can almost drop into a full split. Shit for that matter im 285 ask anyone that has ever rolled with me how slow or stiff I am. Its all about the training regiment brother.
