    BJJ Mumbai - Definitely Bullshido

    This isn't in MABS cause firstly, I found it in a FB group, and the person that posted it there found it on McDojoLife, and secondly, because I am meant to be working today, so can't be galavanting around the web looking for verifiable sources.

    In saying that, if someone did want to eventually move this to MABS, it would be worth it I reckon.

    There's some fairly easily checked claims on the website, such as the academy being recognised by Rickson Gracie's Jiu Jitsu Global Federation (there is a certificate on the website), and that his lineage is from Adolphe Auguste under Carlos Gracie (3 generations). And an 8th Degree Judo Black Belt.

    He actually says in this website that he is India's first Black Belt under Rickson.

    I'll eat my fucking words if this guy is any of this legit.

    Anyway, the best indicator that this cunt doesn't have a clue is his website's videos, that show fundamental misunderstandings of how to implement certain techniques for drills, and with a clearly brainwashed uke who could easily counter/ escape every single move in his free rolling videos. Plus his YouTube videos have the comments disabled, which is coincidentally what I think of the "Major".

                  I saw all of those flags too. Can you imagine for a second what if this guy was actually the first super-bullshitter to be actually legit upon investigation?                       Bro, I started to dive in and found that some of the claims had merit, and I'd already made a number of videos for the series that have declared I'll literally eat my hat if he is legit.

                      Started getting worried, then kept digging. It gets ridiculously hilarious. I honestly don't know how someone has this much time to create this much bullshit.

                      I've literally found an IMDB review that is unsubstantiated. I'll be heading off on a rabbit hole of discovery, stay tuned.

                        Looks like he's made some clarifications on bjjmumbai.com around his Rickson Black Belt. I've since taken down my videos on the YouTube channel for the time being until I am able to substantiate or disprove some of his claims in this clarification.

                        I am giving a little leeway here as there could be a language barrier issue, but am asking for more details from a friend who is close to Rickson.

                        He is threatening defamation as a legal possibility, but the amount of claims this guy makes and the fact that most people are just questioning his claims at present, I'd say he has little to no legal standing.

                        Plus his technique videos suck dick and he's trying to claim that he doesn't teach "traditional BJJ" and that his terminology is different because of that.

                            Another interesting rabbit hole to jump into - his teacher "Prof. Adolphe Auguste" appears to not exist either. His ONLY internet presence is 2 posts with no replies about his supposed "death anniversary". However, I have had the opportunity to train in several french academies, and nobody from any of those academies have ever heard of "Prof. Adolphe Auguste" before. Additionally, that supposed individual has no competition record - likely because he is fictional.

                              Additionally, such a school does not seem to exist in Paris at all. The address given appears to have no fitness facilities, and in France I happen to know that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is called "jiu jitsu bresilien" in French - suspicious that it is different on this diploma though the rest of the title is in French.

                              I am asking a very high ranking black belt in Paris for his feedback.
