Hmm, probably because ACTUAL "pics of disaster" can be rather humorous, regardless of the art. However, most of these seem to have drifted from disaster to just any picture you can find of the art. :sleepy4:

Clownboat is a new one. Assclown, dipshit, shithead or some other derogatory comment probably would have been more appropriate.:eusa_naug

He taught his students to use Aikido during sparring unlike other styles. Aikido does have Kaeshi waza but it has no comparison to Tomiki's style randori. They have shiai in New york this Fall incase anyone would like to watch it.
          When and where?

Well maybe Tomiki is that 10%. My experience is only with Yoshinkan and Aikikai.

Yoshinkan had good solid techniques that you had to make work against a certain level of resistence but no resistent preasure testing/ randori of any type.

Aikikai was 100% complacent (the aikikai I experienced) and was worse.

Unfotunatly there's no Tomiki place I can find near me to check out.

I'll get back to you later about that. I'm not exactly sure I'll have to check.

                        I went through that phase.

And then I started Muay Thai.

                        And now I'm much happier.

Aikikai, for two years. Got up to 3rd kyu. Took two weeks off for some minor surgery and never went back.

I wish I would have left a lot sooner than I did. I got pretty dissatisfied with aikido pretty fast, but stuck around because I made a lot of friends there.

Aikkikai LOL. I'm glad you left too.
But that's one of the reasons I listen to Goju Joe's post because he did Yoshinkan for so long.

Mugatil, you don't have to get so work up over these pics. Just take them with a pinch of salt and some humour. Some people's aikido works, some doesn't... big deal.

Taking a couple of picture of some lowly kyu grade "attempting" to do aikido will definitely become pics of disaster. It is expected.

Sit back and relax... enjoy the show.
