[QUOTE=Sovvolf;3054596]You could probably take on a vast majority of TKD or Karate black belts with 6 months of Boxing training. To be honest without at least a rudimentary teaching or understanding of boxing or grappling in any art that's claiming any sort of self defence applicability is likely a waste of time.[QUOTE]
First of all, boxing rings inhibit any kicker since he can be corned. Secondly, boxing gloves cover up a hold lot more than MMA gloves and very hard to penetrate. thirdly, without a rudimentary understanding of kicking and distance, you will not break the distance by punching alone, and you will not be able to read the kicks. Kicks are an extra range

First of all, you've come back after a year or so and still don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about. Second of all. You got that sparring footage yet? Because you still seem to have a lack of even the most rudimentary knowledge about fighting.
Oh and ask him to do with without those huge gloves....

Okay. Well seeing as we have boxers and high level kickers spar at our gym often on the mats and not in the ring it's something I've witnessed and participated in. Boxers have great footwork scary defence and excel at closing the distance. With what you're saying is that you're saving grace would be to back up constantly and throw kicks... I mean if that's it you're even more clueless than I thought.

Doesn't matter. Go to a Taekwondo school and find a legit guy. You will not land any punches in an open arena, but you will get your ass kicked trying. In a ring? Sure you can corner him, box him up. Totally different.
