Yeah, I've never done that either. I think my body knows it would take away from the Gasping for air it was busy doing.

I mean like seriously give the fuck up.
Exhaustion makes cowards of us all.

Fast twitch people (Vitor,McGregor,Bj Penn,Dan Henderson)for instance look like they are giving up in a fight but their bodies just quit responding because they are filled with lactic acid.

I have. It usually happens when I'm starting to actually catch my breath. Then my stomach heaves.

As a Leukemia survivor, with some residual medical conditions,

I am a connoisseur of throwing up during grappling practices.

I usually throw up, and go right back to grappling with a brief apology for my puke breath.

The worst is when for whatever reason, you have to re-swallow the throw up.

For the record I really am terrible at this whole grappling thing, I have no natural talent at all, I have only been back at it from a very long lay off since around mid-august.

Exhaustion: Someone who doesn't grapple has little idea of how fucking exhausting it is to do when you haven't been doing it.
This happened today, we had a blue belt come in that is just getting back into it, so he has a reasonable technical base, wasn't particularly out of shape, but was out of grappling shape.
The fucker was too exhausted to mount any sort of offense or defense. He was sucking wing pretty hard, and I actually think he might have gone and puked in the restroom.
You add in the adrenaline dump of a flight or fight situation and its over before it fucking begins.
I have said it before and I will say it again over and over again, I have watched people that can run a fucking marathon, do obstacle courses, high volume work outs like cross fit come in, and be brought to the point of puking.

People simply don't know how terrible exhausting a fight really is.

Most people do not know how to breathe. Even the athletic ones.

I know not to eat before hard training, or comp.

I have blacked out, tho. And of course been choked out, a lot.
                And concussed.

Could you explain what you mean by that?

I'm a fast twitch guy as you can see here (I've slowed down a bit but still fast

My cardio is very good when it comes to kicking. I'm pretty sure I would have decent cardio for jiujitsu as well

I've found a new friend in the Wingate test, recently. Probably the only machine that I think comes close to simulating the stresses of grappling.

1 minute at a mild 50 newton-meters would be a big challenge for most people.

You know you could easily go find out by taking one of them free classes.

                              I am never sarcastic.

I take great pleasure in being as literal as possible.

                                Nor ironic.

Not smart enough. Most literal minded person I have ever read.
