Which of these have you ever trained? Last I remember you were a TKD red belt that had no full contact experience.

I'm riding your ass a bit due to your self perceived knowledge on these martial arts/sports. Outside looking in.

    IMO

Argument from authority is a fallacy. I'm attempting to analytically isolate the parts of these combat systems and how they match up generally. I have some form of sparring experience against all of them besides catch wrestling, which is very rare system to come across.

I'm looking to formally train BJJ myself next, but I doubt it will change my view. It's not based on whether I'm good or bad at it.

Not if one is an actual authority or expert, and speaks to one's expertise.

That is the fallacy when dealing with unanswerable questions, which this is.

Not saying there isn't an answer, just that we can't know it unless we clone everybody have them fight each other out 5000 times. There are too many variables involved.

It would be fascinating if we did.

Argument from lack of authority is much dumber.

Oddly enough, that was my intent.

You know there are hall of fame boxing coaches who've never thrown a punch in their life? Never boxed.

There is a difference between never competed as a pro and "never thrown a punch".

There are coaches who literally never thrown a punch in a ring. It's by no means exclusive to boxing either. There's even a saying: those who can do; those who can't, teach.

And those who can do neither, shitpost.

                          (I said, shitposting.)

I am not looking to convince anyone. My authority of lack thereof is completely irrelevant. It would be interesting if people have similar views or not, and why.
