My Swedish nation has shitty ITF schools too. No doubt about that. But nothing beats US TKD

Not every dojo of karate is full shotokan.

Practicing where? You still haven't given any information about your place. Until then your opinion and experience means diddly squat.

He/she is nothing but a troll. More than likely doesn't even train on any serious level based on the content of the posts. Oh and his IP matches his swedish claim... but we know how easy it is to manipulate that info

I trained TKD for 12 years and only wound up as a red belt(they didn't give black belts to kids back then).
I trained in the American Freestyle Tae Kwan Do Muk Do Kwan Academy directly under Master Roy Wade, who was under Grand Master Charles Graham. Was the training hardcore? Well if you were a teen you were expected to start full contact at green belt(6th Gup) in order to advance, though pre-teens could reach purple belt(5th gup) without full contact. After that it was a combo of TKD and kickboxing... So I would say kinda hard core. I mean, in all honesty, drilling things like stretch kicks and reverse punches still seems like a waste of training time.
Typical M-W-F class schedule would go Forms on monday, Self-defense(aka 3 step fighting) on Weds and Sparring on Fri(tappy point sparring mostly, though the full contact stuff got a bit rougher) which were open to all belt levels. Tues and Thurs were full contact kick boxing classes with drills and bag work on Tues and more of the same on Thurs with ever other Thurs being full contact kick boxing sparring.
I could have done worse for an initial striking art to be honest, but I know from experience that straight boxing, kickboxing or MT would have been better.
