YES!!!! Thank you sir for helping me achieve my goal of 30 pages. Thank you for taking the bait.....The fact that a mod made the winning post makes this victory so much sweeter!

I am tearing up a bit, so please bear with me.

I would like to first thank all the little people who made this victory possible. BFMonkey for creating the thread, the Jewish guy (sorry, can't remember your handle, but you were instrumental with your meandering unfocused rants) and of course Rayce. There are so many knuckleheads on this forum who made this possible, I cannot thank you all. Just know that my love for you and your gullibility has no bounds.

I want to also thank all my fake professors from my fake PhD for training me to write prose that completely sucks the riff raff into my scheme.

I also want to thank all the fake martial art teachers I had on my way to my fake martial art skill set. Without you this achievement would never have been possible.

Of course I also want to thank WMurphy for his wisdom and theoretical balance, even if he did rat me out. It was about 20 pages ago that I PMed him about my goal of getting this thread to 30 pages.

The greatest thing about this whole affair is that this thread was started by BFMonkey, not me. He tried to troll me, and of course failed miserably. Silly monkey, please leave the trolling to the professionals.

Again, I thank you all. God bless, and may your training be fruitful and injury free.

You train on the feet 25% of the time, learn how to avoid strikes, get the clinch and win on the ground. That is the BJJ I trained in 20 years ago.

But you must understand its limitations. You are not going to develop high level striking and wrestling in a BJJ class. As I said before, I would tell someone to train in BJJ at least 3 times a week for at least a full year. That would give you what you probably would need to "save your life" in a bad situation.

But lets get real. You are not and will not become some amazing bad assed street fighter or MMA professional. You will need to train in a dedicated striking program and a dedicated wrestling program.

Many MMA schools have high level striking and wrestling coaches. Many do not.

Just stop the BJJ is the God of martial arts nonsense.

I can tell you as a fact that Renzo and Ralph never claimed this sort of foolishness. Of course BJJ is their specialty, but Renzo did a lot of MT and Ralph had a boxing coach fulltime at his school. Ralph had a very solid boxing background.

All Renzo professional fighters spend a ton of time training under Longo. Both Renzo and Ralph spent a ton of time with quality striking instruction.

Renzo fought some rude bastard at a gas station and he did not pull guard, he punched him.

As I have mentioned before, only BJJ guys think they can beat all martial artists. You never hear Golden Glove champs or high level wrestlers spew some sort of nonsense of being able to beat the world with only one martial art. They respect (and are interested in learning) BJJ. Most of them would train if BJJ were not so expensive. I train my sons wrestling coach and he loves BJJ.

He has tremendous respect for the art.

BJJ is the only martial art that has many practitioners who think they are the be all and end all of fighting.
See and this is why you aren't a B+ troll. You are using old debates circa Ashida Kim asshattery. It was called the BJJihad, not BJJ is God and was leveled by what we called blue belt syndrome and that has been dead for at least 7 years. Everyone here says you need a complete game. You, Rabbit, Sock Pupptet Rabbit and his best friend wabbit are arguing shit long dead around 2009ish.

Your entire post is one shitty straw-man surrounded by multiple red herrings.

You never see this nonsense on boxing and wrestling boards.
Now you are a damn lie.

I use the nomenclature high crotch (head outside), single leg (means head on inside for my nomenclature), and double leg myself.
I don't like the high crotch (OK...that sounds odd, LOL) because your are vulnerable to a neck crank submission/crucifix.

When my old coach Nick Sanzo fought Jerry Bolander in the UFC he was caught this way.

However, seeing as this Dan Henderson dude, is so postured up, as opposed to bent over, clearly he doesn't know squat. Any wrestler will easy be able to shoot singles and doubles on him all day long... At least I think that is what we heard about a Sambo World Champion... so clearly...
Are you saying that striking posture is different from wrestling posture? WOW, you are a genius! No one would have ever figured that one out.

A gifted fighter will move effortlessly from range to range. Your striking stance will also change. Against a BJJ BB your stance will be wider, and you will kick less to reduce the chance of being taken to the ground.

The point I am making is that wrestlers are much better at making these sorts of transitions which is why the dominate MMA. BJJ guys have a much harder time of it.

I met him when I was in the Junior Olympics and he was coaching the US National team heading into the 2000 Olympics. He still rolled with the guys of the US National team and gave them a hard time. He didn't step down from coaching until 2011(over a decade from his 1997 hip replacement). Some of what has torn him up is genetic, some of it is just hard living. Now he does PR and fundraising for the US National team and USA Wrestling in general.

You want an honest assesment, Dan Gable's injuries came not so much from getting old, as they did him pushing himself to the point that he could still, beat the young studs in his wrestling room... There is a Masters Division for a reason. He always said, that he would step down when he could no longer beat every wrestler in the wrestling room at Iowa State... When he stepped down he said he would be back when he could again. Finally in 2011 at the age of 63 he admitted that after Owings, age was an opponent that got the better of him.
    Right on target.

In regards to my old training partner, Jay White, he sparred (stand up) with Dan. Dan broke Jays' nose. Jay is 60 lbs bigger than Dan, but everything you have heard about his punching power is true.

Guys like Dan are from another Universe. It is one thing to watch them on TV, another to experience their skill set first hand.

I generally, no matter where I trained, became one of the best guys in the school regardless of striking, grappling or bodybuilding.

People ask me how I would have done had I fought professionally.

I tell them I would have been mediocre at best. 5 and 5, and certainly not close to the level of guys who make it to the UFC. Guys like Dan are from another universe. He is three levels above me, and pretty much everyone else.

In the wrestling community, people know full well what an Olympic level wrestler is like.

They are nothing like you or me.

The only people who think that they can somehow hang with guys like Dan are the BJJ guys.

Low amplitude Double legs are the easiest takedown to learn especially if you turn the corner and just drive thru the legs. There's really nothing to them. ....... but you said head on the inside so you can always turn the corner? You talk about fighting the way virgins in Texas talk about sex with their Canadian model girl friends.
