Harvard gets boatloads of cash because of their reputation. Lesser quality schools get less money. If you knew your head from your ass you would understand how grant writing works.

So we have two organisations that base there top research schools based on qty of research (mostly there are other factors like the number of Phds they give out).
One organistation that has nothing to do with ranking schools.
