I'm surprised no one has mentioned yellow bamboo yet, on a phone so I can't link to the video when the yellow bamboo guy gets levelled on beach outside of Perth

Also this is an overdone topic, would be more interesting if it was "what are effective, yet overhyped, martial arts"

That thread was an awesome read!!!

By they way, I don't think it's fair to say most American TaiJi sucks and you must train in china to get proper TaiJi/gongfu training. Maybe to a certain extent is true, sometimes forms seem more "authentic/traditional" here in china. However I often see them do the same no resistance training I used to see in America.

There is exceptions everywhere and I actually enjoy being wrong about martial art styles and it's training. I love it when my mind is blown and I see traditional CMA doing live training/sparring. I've heard from a friend that TaiJi and BaJiQuan guys in my city do free sparring. If I get a chance I'll check it out and post a vid.

    also:
    animal Kung fu
    krav maga
Kung fu San Soo (because of the practitioners arrogance and no sparring)
    scars (repackaged San Soo)
    RBSD

    1. Ninjitsu
    2. Wing Chun
    3. Aikido
    4. Systema
    5. Krav Maga

Anything to do with Frank Dux, George Dillman, Tom Cameron, Sin Kwang The, Ashida Kim, and the most recent (also most delusional) Grandmaster Thomas Daw.
Conversely, Sumo is the real, those guys may be (morbidly) obese, but they are strong as hell and go at it hard, so it gets aliveness points like Kyokushin.

    What?
That looks suspiciously like plagiarism. File a DCMA claim.

I know a guy who does exactly that on occasion.

I always wish someone would try to rush the door when he's working an event.

The Aikido people who imply they have magic powers or psychic powers lose me as well.
The Aikido people who treat the practice like a study in physics, levers, anatomy, and motion, and who are honest about the practice's combat suitability as a stand alone practice don't concern me that much.
I have to always express some admiration for the falling skills some combination Aikidoka-Judoka's are able demonstrate and/or use in their practice.
