TL;DR: buy a gun and learn how to use it, then do BJJ.

What he has to say for those ppl (90%+ of worlds population) who live in countries where carrying firearms is a priviledge for criminals only?

I would assume you would have to join the ranks of the criminal scum to own a firearm, if you are truly serious about selfdefense. I mean truly serious. Laws don't change reality. Is your family safer with or with out you having a firearm? Seems like the answer should be an astounding YES, but only if you are serious about protecting yourself and your loved ones.

        Seriously,

When you ask criminals why they carry a gun it is always "for protection".

You already lost. You're already fucked. It's like people who want to learn how to escape an armbar when it's already locked out.

I understand your pain but BJJ was his second choice.

Of course it's real. Maybe consider fighting for your freedom.

Or guarantee your own safety without the blessings of the nanny state freedom hating powers that be, if that is your main concern. It is up to you and your personal level of ... well ... desire to protect yourself. How hardcore are you dedicated to maintaining your protection?

It's not the method I would choose, personally. But who am I to judge someone's personal risk and situation.
