Right, other humans that also already knew how to fight. Picking up pointers and concepts is different from "learn to fight in your own home!"

Oh, absolutely. I also think I remember somebody else beastly teaching themselves submission grappling by watching film. Still, in either case they were not untrained. I don't know of any examples of anybody that trained themselves from scratch to competent.

The value of a solid wrestling background can't be overstated. Even more so in the 90s.

Soon-to-be PitFighter Ed Lauzon is also training himself for his debut. All he does is take steroids and tear up Quick Checks to gain Street experience.
