You don't have to be Allen Quatermain to know what an ethical shot is.

I'm in the Pacific Northwest. If you haven't been deeply exposed to bowhunting culture ad nausem around here then you just aren't leaving the house much.

I hunt pigs and prefer a centerfire rifle but that has little to do with this thread

The topic is paintball with bows. I vote "aye".

This is also wrong, wanted to call it out specifically.

Bow hunters take 50 yard shots all the time. It's called practice.

And bringing up ethical shots and humane hunting is truly stupid, since we're discussing humans shooting each other. You brought game hunting ethics into a discussion about humans shooting at each other.

I will still put my money on a hunter at 50 yards with any archery weapon, over every single person playing "Archery Tag".

Hunting is more "alive" than Archery Tag.

Well since you are so confident in your abilities at that range why don't you sign up and dominate the league?

        Vids or GTFO.

Seriously, 30, 50, 80 yard kill shots happen ALL the time, and on foot.

Here's an almost 100 yard one shot skill. Oh, the humanity.

Here's a good practice video on making 80 yard kill shots.

My crossbow has an illuminated 3x32mm scope, so I can hit things at 100 yards in dusk or near dark conditions, not that I would try unless it was a zombie or ninja....that's extremely unsafe with a crossbow. It's not a very safe device to use indoors or in low visibility...

Still missing the point by a mile. You are not even arguing against the points I made. You are simply bragging. Worse you are resting on other peoples laurels. If there is a video of you running through the woods making a vital organ shot against a moving target at fifty yards past obstacles then you can brag of crossover skills. Otherwise you are as always just full of shit.

Is there a name for your condition? I mean. I can think of a couple but they aren't medical terms.

Either you think this sport looks cool or you don't. That is the thread topic. Either engage me on that topic or put me back on ignore.

It's not a sport. It's not a martial art. Hunting and archery are sports and martial arts.

I already said it looked fun in my first post, but that's the one you told people to dismiss (but that's your OCD hangup in case you're unaware, you say that about everything I post no matter what it is).

Your order is futile, I'm not limited to your options. You like to do that, give me ultimatums, and move goal posts and argue logical fallacies straight out yo ass hole.

Why should I engage you? You're a poseur.

Well you're posting here even though you said you wouldn't, so maybe give people a break.

Hunting usually involves aiming at an animal while it stands there, not while it runs behind cover so it can shoot arrows at you.

Ok so I got to wondering about the possible history of run and gun with a bow and the only thing I could come up with was native Americans. There does seem to be some evidence of that style of hit and run tactic being used although mostly it seems they shot from horseback at least in offensive strikes. Don't know if this really proves or disproves the martial arts aspect of it.

I did give him a break, for like 3 weeks.

Note his recurring problem: just won't stop demanding I post video or pictures of this or that. Videos of other people hitting live game at 100 yards is not good enough, it HAS to be me. According to him I'm bragging about something, still haven't figure out what.

Hence, the running joke about him never being able to post a pic or vid of where he claims to train (North Valley Boxing, Redding CA), except for the creepy outdoor pics he posted.

He's stated that he refuse to ever give me proof of anything, I'm not worthy, but he demands it constantly from me. That is more annoying than I could be on my worst day. Even in YMAS, it's such a dead horse..

That is what I get sick of at BS, the constant demands of proof for things from people like Machette who never post proof of shit.

Now he demands I start posting archery videos, or shut up about something (again) I've actually taken part in. Sorry I don't like those options.

That depends on the type of game.

Lots of game run, some even fly (turkeys). Some charge you. Some game can kill you. I've been charged by bucks, it's a very scary experience.

Yes, you can hit a flying wild turkey flying at 50 yards with a bow. There's video of that too. Please don't start demanding that I post video of me doing it.

Ultimately my point is very simple, and clearly valid.

There are people who train to be much better, lethal, accurate, and agile with archery weapons, and they are not running around playing "Archery Tag". It's a fun form of recreation, but you still can't seriously argue that "Archery Tag is "training" or "art" that will make you better fighting with a bow.

It's a game compared to what real bowmen do, hence my scoff.

I think you can make that claim.
Certainly they are going to be better at hitting a moving target that is threating them having done this sport than had they not done it.
They will probably be better snap shooters when it comes to hunting as well.

What the shit. Go start your Agincourt Experience business, I'm sure you'll be broke in a few hours. Motherfuckers want to play Legolas. I want to see 20 on 20 melees with 5 archers and 15 DB style stick fighters on a side.

Not for historical accuracy, just because it would be awesome.

That's actually a really awesome idea. Personally I think archers in that contest would do pretty good, I don't think most people give enough credit to the bow as a weapon. Bows were used for 50,000 years as weapons so they must do something right.
