Seriously though, that's not theorycrafting, we are just looking at things with different levels of perception. Having met Dale, I believe my perceptions to be correct. They could be wrong, but I've got no evidence of that, do I?
I am nothing if not empirical, even when being theoretical.Last edited by W. Rabbit; 8/19/2015 7:42pm, .

Once last thing before I go meet up with some people.
I don't "know" that Jordan would win. A lot of really good grapplers do not have great MMA records.
Marcelo Garcia being case and point, arguably the greatest P4P no gi submission grappler on the planet lost his one and only MMA match to a nobody.
So I certainly think Dale could win in such an exchange.
I just would put the betting line on Jordan.

Some schools claim to actually teach the format...however in my humble opinion a good program will have to include all the modifications. MMA is probably a good approximation, but there are elements that MMA doesn't directly address (you don't lose points for losing your balance, etc, and you can lose by decision for simply being tossed off).

The best place right now for Lei Tai training at least from what I saw was what Fight Team LLC does, they combine MMA, Judo, San Shou, and BJJ and train 100% to the lei tai format when sparring, platform and all.
The next best place would be kung fu kwoons that train alive with realistic San Shou/Da but also with a platform, or maybe muay thai schools that incorporate throwing (if they're an MMA school that works).
Yee's (my old school and my opponent's current school) does a great job, internationally, of preparing Lei Tai fighters.
It really is a unique animal, a great mixing place for different arts, and probably the coolest tradition in kung fu.
Next to the two character testicle adduction stance, of course, which can improve your sexual stamina tremendously. Forget fighting...it's rumored real kung fu can stave off the need for Viagra.Last edited by W. Rabbit; 8/19/2015 7:41pm, .

For the record I neither Hate or dislike Rabbit.
All and all I honestly think he is trying to be helpful.
Just its a bit misguided.

Like I said before and I will say it often I like Dale, hes a stand up guy. He helps people get healthy. He can certainly throw some hands.
However he is very mistaken if he thinks his ground game is anywhere near on par with Jordan's. Call it "theroycraft" all you want but Dales bit of Judo is not very likely to prepare him for leg locks.
You should know this from your own training this is basic understanding of how holes in games work.
Guess what we have all trained with big guys.
That isn't going to be some sort of gotcha to Jordan.
Not for nothing and once again I respect the hell out of Dale but a lot of that weight difference is Fat vs muscle.
I wills say it because I do respect Dale I think Dale is fit even with the extra pounds and I know he is strong but he isn't a monster compared to Jordan when it comes to strength.

Isn't it obvious I've been picked on my whole life for being different and it's made my ultradefensive with people?
I've learned to cope through humor. That didn't help with the beatings though, so I took up martial arts.
Obviously it still doesn't help with ALL beatings, but I feel confident I can avoid MOST beatings, and especially more confident since last month.
They don't need much sophistication...just a believing audience. It's a lot like organized religion.
There's three possible theories here
1. Everyone suddenly hates you
2. You're the victim of groupthink
3. You're wrong.

But none of these people are sockpuppets. Or if they are, they're of incredible technical sophistication.

I've noticed a real pattern that MOST people who actually throw down and push video...don't harass others that do.
Yet, here we are, people are claiming Rabbit thinks he's hot shit on the mat, hot shit in the ring, Rabbit lectures people, he's a know-it-all...ok that last part is true if this were Smurf Village, I'd be Brainy. But fuck off, I can't change who I am.
Grow up, quit crying about me for doing all the same things you're guilty of.

What it sounds like you are describing is what I see typically in Judo...people train "extra hard" for (maybe) a month or so for a competition, and call it good.
That's OK, but not optimal.
I'm still learning how to train people that way, BTW. It is definitely necessary for serious competitors to be successful, but a hard-core bitch to implement. The player has to be very committed. Sometimes only aspects can be applied.
