Ghost is new and KK has a fair amount in common with Shotokan because Oyama trained under Funakoshi.
They are a lot more sideways than we tend to be, though.

Not trying to say I know for a fact what I'm talking about here but, isn't KK basically derived from Shotokan? Aside from judo I don't think Oyama trained any other styles.

Oyama also trained in Goju-ryu. He was supposed to have also had informal training in Chinese arts as a kid, but that may be embellishment.

So... what I'm hearing here is: If I find a Shotokan school an train diligently there, while including hard contact sparring, compete where able, and (if the anecdotes about Oyama I've heard are accurate) getting into slightly more than my fair share of fights...
