"trapping stuff" lol there are also techniques in there to break your shin bone and dislocate shoulders.

How tough are yours? Or anybody's.

Make no mistake, I believe Snake and Crane can be trained to brutal efficiency, hence the legacy.

I've yet to capture it on camera, it's kind of like Nessie. Some people are kind of there, but I'll know it when I snap it.

No I have seen plenty of CMA, MT, ke?po, and ?JJ striking limb destruction methods that work... and plenty that haven't or don't work too. Just haven't seen the "trapping" elements with the guiding/sliding/sticky hands work when you can strike and move freely.

I think someone once said WC would be the perfect striking art for fighting off a smaller rapist in a glory hole/bathroom stall situation,I could see that.

Screw chainpunching. IIF posted a vid a while back of a guy on a heavy bag, throwing long series of punches, powering into the bag with each strike by stomping in place, the flow of impacts held the bag 30 degrees from vertical. Since I can't find it, here's Tyson.

        EDIT: Found it!

"Trapping" what is that other than a gimmick word to describe something certain people think makes them special. Oh wait some don't do that.

Every fucking art has "trapping". Chunners make a big deal about it.

          LOL Wing Chun "trapping".

Like I was saying ... if anyone can show me WC trapping I will seriously be impressed. Pressing an oncoming jab or a quick parry to open up a right straight or crashing in to throw an elbow is not "trapping". Not all styles have trapping, in many styles it is in integral part of doing stuff, in general. There is no sticky hands training or dead below the waist nonsense.

It is in no way a skill or skill set which can be developed as a stand alone exercise or drill thus useless to pursue WC for.

There is also the historical context for modern Chun. The common forms are gentrified, stand up slap boxing, they DE-emphasized other three animals (the truly nasty ones).

They hearken to an older era of full contact ass kicking the likes of which the world has rarely seen.

Wing Chun is like that little bit of water-ketchup you have to squeeze out of the bottle before the real stuff starts to flow.

That how I was taught to "trap".

In a fight things happen too fast to really pull it off like in compliant drills but the "slapping attacks offline" is real and applicable. Especially against drunks and children.

The word itself is a trap.

It's hard for me to just think of Wing Chun in terms of only boxing.
