    Quick bio/intro.

    FUCK!!

Holy fucking shit that fucking felt good.

Sorry, I've been a long time member at Martial Arts Planet (MAP) and swearing is against ToS there.

I've browsed through Bullshido a few times through the years and I'm a fan of the forum. I especially like the Youtube videos. I decided it's probably time to join Bullshido. Partly because there are more 'merikuns here and at some point in the future it would be nice to potentially meet up with people in their places of training, and partly because it's more in line with my own views on martial arts in general. I'm not a huge traditional MA fan.

I've been doing martial arts off an on since I was 16 (2004). I started with Isshinryu Karate in Gainseville Fl, a traditional style. I moved on to training MMA at a place called F2 Darkside in Gainesville from 18-20yrs of age. F2 was focused heavily on BJJ/Grappling at that time from what I experienced in 06-08. I joined the Marine Corps Infantry in 08, served as a TOW Gunner for two years, then moved into a sniper platoon where I was given the opportunity to go to SS school (and passed). I've been on a MEU (for those who know what the hell that is), responded in the Haiti Relief effort after their earthquake, and have deployed to Afghanistan as an SS.

I left the Marine Corps in 2012 and moved up to DC and trained in Boxing for a year and some change. Unfortunately I got knocked out last June in my first amateur boxing match and am still recovering from the mTBI I received. My recovery has been painfully slow due to trying to "push through" the injury, is compounded by other physical injuries including an mTBI I was unaware of from an IED blast in Afghanistan, and PTSD/Anxiety issues that I have found new difficulty with due to the current injury. Fuck it.

When I do get back to training some form of martial arts, I hope to dive into either BJJ or Wrestling. I'm obviously not trying to get dinged in the head any time soon (damn adult responsibilities are the reason) and I'm hitting an age where I think trying to compete in striking arts is a practical idea, especially with my injury sheet right now. Who fucking knows though. That said, there's a lot less room for more TBI in grappling!

I love martial arts and fighting has been a part of my life since 16, not something I want to give up. Other interests of mine include SD awareness, strength training/conditioning (although you wouldn't be able to tell from the obese blob I have become in the last year due to injury), and . . . well, not much else.

So that's my intro.. Hopefully I can be a decent contributing member here. If I post bullshit make sure you tell me to fuck off and why so I can re-assess my own values.

Welcome to Bullshido, MAP is a shit hole for Ninja that are too deadly to spar.

There are a lot of good BJJ schools in the DC area, depending on where you are living (with traffic and all).

Yeah, I use tapatalk...between here and Terminal Lance, I get used to lax language scrutiny and sometimes get my peepee smacked on MAP for language.

I like MAP, especially the baby blue background. It's like lotion for the skin, so soothing for the eyes. (take this in jest, don't read me literally!)

I've been researching differing places for BJJ in the DC area. Once I get back into doing things I'll probably work on getting back into shape for half a year and then go on a search for a place to train. I'm sure I'll be posting a thread about it when the time comes, or using the search function so I don't spam.

I thought Terminal Lance sold out and is making motivational SSgt comics now? (joking, I know it was an April Fools joke)

I can think of a few, not sure who all the double agents are (joke!) yet.

I like to be thought of as a dick rather than an asshole though.

                          Trolling in the Newbietown forum?

Do you want to get banned, again?

I bear you no ill will Doof, so I'm wondering what was going through your head when you made this post. While it seems clear you know the OP from MAP, did you consider that that's outside the staff's frame of reference? That all we see is you breaking the rules?
Shut the hell up and train.

For my own benefit, can you tell me why this is seen as a trolling post? I took it as a friendly hello, but I can see how it can be seen as a troll without the right context provided. There's a TON of FAQ to read, is there a specific one I should review for the answer to this question?

Not currently. I don't do much but lay around and do school work currently due to injury. I'm lucky if I feel well enough to leave my apartment for a walk. As a result, I'm pretty much a sasquach.
