So, I happened across a link for Tess Kielhamer on youtube because of, um, reasons. Her profile on IMDB listed her appearances mainly in this series, so I thought I'd have a look.
The basic premise of the series is a martial arts comedy which draws its inspiration from 90's era fighting video games (which seems to be an excuse for avoiding any effort in terms of a storyline etc.). A handful of select martial artists/fighters (sluggers) vie for the position of "toughest in town" at the behest of a faceless benefactor.
It's an indie produced series and crowd funded. If you're into strong storylines, good acting and realistic choreography then these aren't the droids you're looking for. There are enough tongue-in-cheek nods to keep it entertaining though (such as the gang leader's insistence on attacking one by one and the killer groin kick finishing move on a female scrapper), especially if accompanied by the consumption of alcoholic beverages..
