At the same time the world faces a new epidemic of LARGE proportions: OBESITY

Never seen before in the history of Mankind have we faced such a challenge as a global society, to face the great contrast between a starving and obese world.

But there is hope Mr. White for there are possible action courses that can change the course of history and send our specie towards a brighter future.

And that is the motive of this post, You as one of the most powerful men in this planet can command the resources to make a significant impact on this issues.

I'm proposing an strategy that will help reduce obesity, obtain the necessary funds to provide a better life to many people across the globe and finally cement your position as a influential and charitable person.

You will probably remember this thread where it was discussed the science behind fat people's fighting ability.

This idea proposes the following

1. Create a reality show of massive fat people training to fight in the UFC

2. Use the massive funds obtained by it to transform the world into a better place.



Take your time to consider it the lives of many depend on it.

Not sure if you're just trying to be funny, here, or if you genuinely think something needs to be done about obesity.

For my part, I really don't give a rat's ass if some random people want to thin the herd by eating themselves into oblivion. Survival of the fittest, and all that.

If you're really concerned about it, how about showing us what you've done, personally, to attack the problem rather than making some asinine thread about what you think somebody else should do.

I would agree but the drain on the health care system that they have does have a negative effect on us as a whole.

Oh and about the show: There is already a "reality" show called "The Biggest Loser" but about who can loose the most weight.

For MMA there is Wimp 2 Warrior which is great but doing the same with extremely obese people seems unrealistic to me. It would require like maybe 2 years or so which might be way too long for most TV formats.

Biggest Loser only works because the people are obese and have nutritionists who count micros (lmfao @ counting micros, nearly impossible to hit it correctly alone). They start eating "normally" and see massive weight loss. With people who are merely overweight, such loss is extremely dangerous.

Most people don't have the will or resources to lose weight though.

Personally I feel our food supply and and healthcare is a population control utensil. Coupled with the happenstance of specialization and industrial progress making life less strenuous.

Bullshit most of the problem isn't a sedintary life style or people craming large quanties of food down there face. Its they cram the wrong shit down there throats the fast food and the prepagaed shit. No one fucking cooks real food anymore, and this is despite reality cooking shows doing well. So u think a MA focused program is going to work? U crazy.

We have a similar program here, a program to promote boxing as a way to have a healthy life

A program that would make more people do fucking exercise would have an impact is not a magic panacea to solve this epidemic

But then again most ways to tackle issues of this scope take many programs, failures, re thinkings and new ideas to finally see some positive change
