Hey all,

I think I've read most of the stickied rules at the top of Newbietown (can I call it noob town?) to say hi to everyone.

The name's Ira. Unlike most of you (at least from what I've seen so far) I'm from Sydney in Australia. For my (insignificant) MA credentials I've been trained in CLF back in the days when I was in Hong Kong ("Northern" one I think) for several years which was almost 10 years ago. Now I'm doing HEMA (Silver, Highland broadsword, other stuff based on English manuals, Bolognese/Italian stuff) for the last 7 years in a historical fencing school Stoccata and been doing boxing/wrestling/submissions with friends (in a friend's garage :P) for the last year.

You may commence trolling me now (well, as much as the mods will allow, which may or may not be any. :P).

Awesome. Thanks. Well, at the moment I'm pretty busy (and I have no idea exactly where I'll end up next year) so I'll leave that for later, but certainly it will become useful (if I end up managing to stay in Australia).

Have you lurked in the Western Martial Arts Forums yet?

I have a brief look. :P It's hard enough to find the Noobtown, and I'm a bit surprised to see the WMA forums to be listed under "traditional", given that the lineage is kind of broken and people who do it are analysising it systematically with sparring as a base as opposed to the EMA's thing of "I AM YOUR SIFU/SENSEI YOU MUST OBEY!".
