What I really don't understand is that Russia has a holiday called Wall on Wall (Stenka na Stenku) that's held every year. Which involves 2 groups of men making opposing lines and basically beating the living hell out of each other in order to break through.

There is some explanations of the tradition in the beginning and a really nice throw at around 8:00 minutes in, but the full wall on wall is towards the end of the video 14:10. Except when I did when I was younger we didn't use gloves. The point being, if this is a holiday tradition and you are presumably a fighter and attend it every year, how in blazes do things like the above instructional video even get made.

No, you really don't :( It's full of stuff like you can easily translate the upturned palm block from wing chun into an Aikido grab as long as you've mastered the concept of sticky hands, which leads to a multitude of arm locks.

So if I guy comes at you with a stiff lunging punch and stands there without moving, or even retracts his hand and stands there without moving, you can then do a fifteen hit unblockable combo on him.

The karate guy made a critical error. He could have made his point much better had he thrown a doughnut as a distraction then leapt into his triple flying sidekick combo.
