    Blood makes the grass grow!

I came across Bullshido when I was trying to find out info about martial arts schools. I basically train myself and am a jack of all trades when it comes to fighting styles. If it works I try to add it to my repertoire. I'm 40 so competition ain't my thing. Being able to protect my family and myself is. Love fighting, but am a man of peace when at all possible. An angel of death when violence is the only resort. Just wanted to say "whats up" since I am a lowly noob.
Looking for new conditioning methods since I'm coming back from a bad wrist injury. Peace bullshido stars.:Determined:

Welcome to Bullshido. Did you do any formal training before you began experimenting on your own?

I thought I spelled it wrong, but as I said I'm a mechanic not an English professor.

Being able to protect your family is "your thing", but it's not wort actually going out and learning a martial art?

Welcome to Bullshido, where we're not proponents of teaching yourself solely through video.

Naw, be like Oyama and pick out a tree and hit it til it dies. Who needs videos, much less gyms?

sorry if I came across that way like water. I do attend a karate dojo and have trained in some boxing, grappling and marine corp martial arts when I was in the military.

hey patfromlogan I do attend a karate dojo and have done some training in some other styles. I meant that I train myself because I have attended different gyms and when I said competition aint my thing I meant like being a professional fighter for ufc which I would have loved to do if I was younger. like going on ultimate fighter that would have been cool. I spar in my training and love it.

Well, that's what happens when I make assumptions, I guess. My bad, friend.

Do you know what style of karate? Because I always wonder how people could go from something like boxing to point-sparring style karate.

Oyama? I thought that was George Washington?

Hell Like Water, I've gone from hard Okinawan to softer Kempo to full on KK to point sparring TKD to self defense to kata based to sport kick boxing to all range tap out back to kata based kenpo + point sparring... keep training and you can do it all!
