500 proper form straight punches to heavy bag each arm for training?

Let's be realistic, Doing 10 short reps of punches day will not make you into a kung fu master.

The reason I've been doing 500 straight punches to a heavy bag today is because I want to be that guy on that can take out a 300 pound man a single punch.

The only way I can do that is by training like no one else has trained before. I might join the mma after I finish my time in the navy ( Not in the navy yet) and I want to be able to finish a match in less than 5 seconds.

Punching an 100 pound heavy bag 500 times on each arm just might give me that kind of power....I'm not trolling I'm srs

It's just really bothering, How I see a whole bunch of kung fu masters doing all the fancy poses and forms than all of sudden getting slaughtered by a fat drunk wildly throwing flurries of punches.

They're not training hard enough, And what else bothers me is seeing dudes like chuck liddel doing all this hardcore training and when he actually fights it's really not that impressive and awe-inspiring.

      It won't.
They're training harder than you, you're not training at all.
      Join the mma?
Get to a gym and refrain from posting in places which say "advanced" until you've done some actual training, a good couple of years for example.
You can also just continue watching UFC and STFU.

Welcome to bullshido. I can only assume you're very young. Join a gym or a dojo with alive sparring. What you're trying to do is mostly bullshit.

Welcome to Bullshido. What Azatdawn said ^^^^^^^^^.

I thought I spelled it wrong, but as I said I'm a mechanic not an English professor.

Welcome. Since nobody has done so yet, I'll include this as I think it'll be helpful:

Watch this video and pay very close attention. It will explain aliveness to you. This is, without a doubt, the single most important martial-arts related video I have seen thus far.

Doing something wrong 500 times is approximately 50 times worse than doing it wrong only 10 times.

Might I suggest visiting a boxing gym and trying it on for size?

If you can hit a heavy bag 500 times your probably not hitting the bag right. Your most certainly not developing hitting power.
Of the single rapier fight between valiant men, having both skill, he that is the best wrestler, or if neither of them can wrestle, the strongest man most commonly kills the other, or leaves him at his mercy.

Out of curiosity, are you not in the Navy yet because you are a young teen?

Yep, And you guys seem to have a very limiting attitude toward training.

Why don't we train until we're half-dead? We should train until our fist bleed and we're in tears.

Do you have any idea how illogical that is, You're saying no matter how many times you properly hit a heavy bag you will never build up the arm endurance to do 500 punches.

And the ripped skin on my knuckles prove otherwise, If i were doing pussy daisy punches I wouldn't have a scratch

No, most people here are adults and now how to properly train. In other words, you are inexperienced.

You need to read what he said properly. No, that isn't what he said at all.

Blackeroni I'm afraid you're gonna end up with permanently damaged wrists before being able to start training at all. Did you at least learn to throw a proper punch? Where? This is not trying to make you uncomfortable, this is seriously important.

I was once a young dude with a punching bag an no training also. I'm a bit lucky nothing happened to my hands because the idiot that sold it to me put some sand inside.

See, your head is filled with many ideas about boxing/ fighting that are incredibly wrong. There's a lot more to being able to knock someone out that having hit the heavy bag x times.

Precision, timing, knowing where to hit without getting hit yourself... a lot of things you won't learn by punching the heavy bag.

You've obviously never trained properly if you think punching the heavy bag 500 times is all that hardcore. It might tire your arms out, but that's that.

You're probably also going to fuck up your wrists permanently. Doesn't seem like you're using bandages or bag gloves if the skin on your knuckles is ripped. You thinking that this proves anything is probably wrong, too. If a 5 year old child punched a heavy bag 500 times its knuckles would bleed, too, most probably. Does it mean it can punch as hard as you? Maybe you just have very nice and soft skin.

Anyway. You can listen to the guys here that gave excellent advice or you can be just another idiot thinking he came up with the greatest shit.

Try to do one thing, though. Do your 500 punches routine for a month, maybe two. Then go to a boxing or thaiboxing club and say you'd like to do some tryout lessons. Do some sparring.

I can almost guarantee 100% that you're going to kick yourself in the head for the two months you wasted before.

You do not train to INJURE yourself, THAT is illogical.
