Nonlinear Martial Arts...is this guy real?

So I found this card at a yoga studio my girlfriend goes to here in Fairbanks, Ak. I checked out the site and the stuff seems cool, but the guy has no background. He doesn't even mention a style. He says he teached 'American Gung Fu'. Not sure what that means.

    Is this a fraud? http://westerntao.blogspot.com

    Welcome to bullshido.

    Okay, a couple of things.

    1) Read all of the rules before you post in a specific forum. Where you originally posted is for serious investigations of fraudulent or questionable behavior only. No, this does not mean asking the question "is this fraud." It means set up a serious post discussing what is wrong and what you have fully checked on your own.

    2) Implying or using the word "fraud" is highly serious and it is best not to use it unless you are absolutely sure of your claim. Yes, you used it as a question, but it is best to leave the word out of a post unless necessary.

Well judging by their videos labeled as "sparring" I will say that the quality of instruction is garbage, and that your expectations should not be very high in terms of hoping to attain any usable skills outside of poor slap boxing.

This has nothing to do with his credentials or lacktherof.

The sparring is garbage, and he's charging $200/month for 8 classes. Go somewhere else.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, and after a quick google search, there didn't seem that many options available to you.

However, going through the Alaska Judo website, the North Star Judo Club is located on Lathrop St.

It pretty much guarantees to be a better workout, more practical, and certainly much cheaper. http://www.northstarjudoclub.com
Good Luck, and welcome to Bullshido
