Do you still train regularly? Everyone must answer!

    #2
I am still training every week.
I do my TKD twice a week, can only make boxing cardio classes due to work but attend them once or twice a week if possible.

I have just started up Muay Thai again once weekly.

Only spar about once fortnightly. (definitely not enough)

I've been training TKD twice a week for 5 years, boxing on and off club training/ cardio sessions for about 2 years. Sometimes i go and check out other Martial Arts places for fun.

Train Judo once a week, though that is only because the club in my town is just one day a week, I am planning to attend either another Judo or BJJ club elsewhere in the county in the new year.

Randori/Rolling every class, about 60% of class time.

Training in total about 6 years of different things on and off, 9 months in Judo so far.

I train Krav Maga 2-3 times a week at the moment. I wish I could go more, but I'm short on time. I spar at least once a week.

          • Do you still train in MA at least once per week?

Yes, I train BJJ 2-3 times per week and teach karate 2 times per week and Boxing 1 day per week.

          • What type of gym/style do you train in currently?

          See above.

          • How often do you engage in live sparring/rolling?

I roll in every BJJ class, I spar with my students every class(knockdown), I spar with my boxers every Saturday morning.

          • How long have you been training in total?

          33 years in October

          • If you no longer train, what caused you to stop?

The only time I took off from training was during college for football and track. Only because my coaches forbid me from training.

Now, I did stop boxing at age 32, since the "masters" boxing program was not established at that time and 32 was the max age for amateur at that time. Now I just do some coaching and spar with my people. And I was a mediocre boxer(better than .500, but still mediocre).

                • Do you still train in MA at least once per week?
                Yes

                • What type of gym/style do you train in currently?
2 classes of trad Okinawan karate, 2 classes of No Gi

                • How often do you engage in live sparring/rolling?
Live rolling at the end of every no gi class, freestyle point sparring on alternate months in karate

                • How long have you been training in total?
Started boxing age 17 (now 37yo) and have gypsied around a few MA styles since

                • If you no longer train, what caused you to stop?
I haven't trained all the way through. When I've stopped for the odd year here and there it's been down to work, laziness, injuries or cannabis.

                  • Do you still train in MA at least once per week?
                  Yes

                  • What type of gym/style do you train in currently?
A field near my apartments, where my stepson and I work out and practice.

I've trained in a variety of styles over the years, various kung fu styles (5 animals, wushu, chin na, hunggar), some bujinkan, some aikido, some kickboxing, some bjj. I'm kind of a rolling stone, and when I move, i tend to try to find something new and different in the area I'm at and take up some training--though as I grow older, I find I don't have as much of a hard-on for hard training as when I was younger.

                  • How often do you engage in live sparring/rolling?
It's been a few months..was every week until I moved to NoVa

                  • How long have you been training in total?
                  29 years, give or take.

                  • If you no longer train, what caused you to stop?
Money and time. I've got a lot of stuff on my plate, so I don't really have much of either for formal training (though I'm hoping to join my stepson at Pedro Sauer's place when a little of both free up).

I train 2-3 times a week when work allows me. It's very rare that a week goes by without me training at least once.

I train BJJ and have started to train Judo.

                    I spar every class.

I have trained a total of 16 years. 6 years of wrestling, 10 of BJJ.
Shut the hell up and train.

                      • Do you still train in MA at least once per week?
Getting to my primary gym 4-5 times a week and an Informal club 2-3 times a week.

                      • What type of gym/style do you train in currently?
                      Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Usually every class, so that could be up to 8 times a week if I can stay injury free.

                      Japanese Jujutsu : 10 years
                      Judo : 1 year
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu : 5 years (with a 5 year break in there, to focus on my Japanese Jujutsu)

                        Yes

                        • What type of gym/style do you train in currently?
I train stick fighting twice a week, tai chi every day, and some bag work thrown in there.

                        • How often do you engage in live sparring/rolling?
I spar sticks every class. Some if that is with padded sticks. We also roll and do empty hand sparring.

                        • How long have you been training in total?
Total of about 12 years, starting with kickboxing, LEO combatives, BJJ, Kung Fu, and now sticks.

                          I train twice a week

Currently I am only training in Judo

Sparing is at least once a week, normally twice

I have been training Judo for two years and before that five of wrestling, so seven total.
