*Sigh* I started karate at age 4 and had significantly better form by the time I was her age and had also competed/won several tournaments. Yet I didn't get a black belt until a few years later (I think at 10 I was just grading to 3rd kyu). Why? For the simple reason that I wasn't ready for it in terms of experience, understanding and discipline and that's the way it should be.
Someone shouldn't be given a sho dan just because "oh, she's so much better than the other kids her age". She moves like someone who has no idea of the purpose behind the movements. Even her kiais are mistimed! She doesnt have the fundamental understanding of technique that SHOULD be a requisite for anyone grading beyond 3rd kyu.Last edited by Jazz.w92; 4/25/2011 11:51am, .

I'm just saying that could be just a junior black; it did have a white stripe through the middle.
(And yes, her form was bad)
