    My First Kyokushin Tournament....

....and I lost in the first round. (I'm the guy on the right)

Actually, I don't feel too bad. I've only been doing KK for about 5 and a half months. I ended up bracketed against a guy who's fought in, and from what I understand, won quite a few tournaments.

Basically, he scored two Waza Aris, thus beating me. My leg is pretty messed up this morning...but so is his. He ended up going to the heavyweight final match, and lost. He had to fight switch stance after me, for the most part, because I hurt his leg. All in all, it was a great experience. As much as it's improved in the last couple months, I still need to work on my cardio, big time.

And now I take a second beating.....

Ugh...I'm in pain right now. It's like I got hit by a rock or something.

That was a great experience, but I'm disappointed I didn't do better and got to at least fight another time.

How's your leg doing this morning?

I think the constant leg-kicks provide a nice rhythm to the whole thing.

I am confused by Smoke's post. But nice job. Your left leg is a hero.

Ah, I figured by your post you may have been there, but I thought for a second you were the one who was kicking the hell out of Waggs' leg. Props to you too.

By the time you started checking and answering his kicks the damage was done but that's the learning experience and gives you something to work on for next time. Fair play for competing, OSU!

Yeah, I would've like to have fought another, but even if I had, any more leg strikes would've ended me quick.

You did fine, Jake. I spar the guy you fought sometimes, and he usually takes me apart too.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm open to whatever anyone wants to say!

OSU to you, a hell of a lot of people like to talk a bit talk but never step out into the ring for a fight. And given the relative experience levels, you did very very well. You, sir, could probably wipe the mats with me.

                            Yeah, you have talent!
I don't, haha, but I work hard, so my hope is that I'll get really good if I keep plugging away at it.
