Would you wrestle a girl?

Basically this high school wrestler out in Iowa refused to wrestle a female who had qualified for the state tournament. He seems sincere in his sentiment that he felt like it what against his beliefs and faith, but I do wonder if there was a little bit of doubt involved too. It does seem at least, all concerned parties are keeping it as classy as possible.

What would you do if put into this situation?

What kind of mongloid doesn't wrestle a girl? I'm not even sure why this is news worthy, as most girls competing in wrestling do quite well.

Typically, girls strength-weight ratio on the wrestling team is better than the boys in their weight classes, because the boys at 103-125 tend to be not fully matured adults, whereas the girls in those weights are.

This all aside, I have wrestled girls, and when they are good, it's kinda hot. :p

That's dumb. If you refuse to grapple a girl, simply because she is a girl, then you're sexist.

I never wrestled in high school, but since starting bjj the only girls I've grappled with were far better than me. I didn't have any moral compunction about it. I am from a notoriously politically correct region so that might play a part in it.

And yes, grappling girls are hot.

Are we talking a hot girl? Cause that changes the question and the answer too for some. I think I would have trouble concentrating I mean if she gets me in an arm bar I might like it, and then there's the whole mounting issue. Would I be motivated to resist if I'm smothered in titties probably not and if it transitions to the old 69.

What does it matter whether she's ugly or not? If she's hot. the reasons for wrestling her are obvious, if not, she has to be defeated for esthetic reasons.

I understand why he diddn't wrestle her. For some it's not as simple as "she is girl this is Martial Arts treat her fairly!" I understand that but some people were raised to treat girls with 100% respect and the whole grappling thing with them might make them feel dirty/unloyal.

I saw this and quite frankly i was disgusted by this guys conduct.

i too was raised with the whole "treat women with respect". however, this kid is NOT living up to that.

as a former wrestler (folk and free), and this was YEARS ago when women were even less involved in the sport, if you wrestled a girl, or blind person, you could safely assume they were GOOD, they had to be- otherwise they wouldnt' put up with the shit people would give them (well the girl mostly).

now even though women are more involved, and seemingly not as rare, i can only say that maybe this guys motivations was fear, and he used his "respect" claptrap to bow out.

its not like this was a normal team match, its not like it was his or her first day, given the level of the competition, he should know damn well that she was there, and wanted respect not for her breasts, but for her skill in the ring- he denied her that and just about as much as slapped her in the face while his buddies held her down so she couldn't retaliate.

she worked hard to get there, she obviously was skilled and obviously strapped on the singlet (subbing that for gloves doesnt' sound as good- but the point is clear i think)- so its not like some pickup game of ball in the park.

maybe im reading into things and jumping to "fear" becasue im disgusted, but thats not an unreasonable presumption. maybe its not true, maybe it is. we will have to get a bald guy in a wheelchair to read his mind and sort it out for us,

but im wondering if he would bow out of wrestling him too
