Chuck Camo: the dark art of freestyle militia nunchaku

Somehow I came across this guy's youtube channel:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/chuckcamo#p/u/2/gzTfPlSpS7A

His videos are gold. "Militia style nunchaku"! I wanna be in a nunchaku militia. We'd be the ball-bustinest militia out there. He dresses in camo, and in one video, a goddamn ninja uniform, and films it for the whole world to enjoy. "The Black Art of Freestyle Nunchaku"! Sounds like dangerous stuff no mother would approve of! Such is the way of the backyard warrior.

There's a lot of parallels that could be drawn between Chuck and Danbo. Like, they're basically the same character. I think they should fight for the title of best G.I. Joe character.

Anyway, the thing that made me want to post this instead of just privately laugh was that his militia nunchaku one is apparently an actual DVD, so he could actually be making money off this stuff (but I doubt they're flying off the shelves). So if you have dreams of making vaguely miltia-like martial arts videos, let your nunchaku be your rainbow!

His technique is almost identical to that of the "Lissajous |Principles" guys out of Florida. Look up Lee Barden and Karate Arts. Their system is based off of a guys physics research project.

This is a joke right? It's tongue in cheek isn't it? I mean, there IS a punchline coming here?

You know what, fuck it. Let's set up a street death match between him and Phil the Swordsman.

Great juggling. Always enjoy watching a guy without a teacher perform something he made up.

He looks like he's trained very hard at his baton twirling. Well done, sir, well done.

(my introduction to Dan Inosanto was a magazine article in the early 80's, about why nunchaku sucked. He and BLee saw its potential to look great in movies, but that given a choice between wielding nunchaku, or a stick, he'd prefer the stick)

Wow, now this takes me back. Man I wish I could be 15 again. Before girls, before playing in bands, before the Marines came along.

Chuck Camo? These days, kids video their stupidity for the whole world to see.

Yep, playing with sticks is where it's at.

I have a set of practice chucks(foam over plastic) and can do a few basic moves. Yeah they look cool but after you spend about thirty seconds with them you realize how useless they are.

I don't know, that SoCal nunchaku underground fellows are just a little too hardcore for me. Wouldn't want to get caught up in some sort sting operation because of all the heat that they draw.

Someone should probably tell this guy militias tend to have guns..

..Although I'm willing to bet his reply would be that his dragon twister spinning nunchuk move would render their bullets useless.

I want to see him fight this guy:

You gotta give Chuck Camo some credit. At least he is dedicated to what he does. I don't know how many takes it took to get that video, but he does some nifty (albeit useless) tricks.
